Objective:This study is a clinical study of applying mindfulness art therapy to patients undergoing chemotherapy after breast cancer surgery,to explore the effect of this therapy on perceived stress, anxiety and depression, and level of hope in patients undergoing chemotherapy after breast cancer surgery, and to explore the experience and feelings of patients participating in the intervention. It can alleviate the negative psychological state of patients during chemotherapy and promote the healthy recovery of patients during the cancer treatment stage.Method:This study is a mixed study and is divided into two parts.1.Quasi-experimental research: After strict screening by inclusion and exclusion criteria, convenience sampling was used to select 90 breast cancer patients undergoing inpatient chemotherapy from December 2020 to September 2021 in a tertiary hospital in Shanxi Province as the research objects.According to the order of admission,12 The month to April of the following year was the control group, and the month of May to September was the intervention group, with 45 cases in the control group and the intervention group. The control group was given routine nursing care according to chemotherapy, including the characteristics of the disease after treatment, the response to symptoms, rehabilitation exercise and psychological care.On this basis, the intervention group implemented mindfulness art therapy 8 times,2 times every three weeks, about 60 minutes each time, using general information questionnaire, perceived stress scale(CPSS),anxiety and depression scale(HADS)and hope level scale(HHI)Data were collected before and after the intervention, and the levels of perceived stress, anxiety and depression, and hope were compared between the two groups of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.2.Phenomenological research: After the intervention,in-depth interviews were conducted with patients in the intervention group who were willing to participate in the interviews. When the data reached saturation, the sampling was stopped, and the Colaizzi7-step method was used to analyze the patients’ inner feelings and intervention effects after the intervention,to provide further evidence for perceived stress intervention in breast cancer patients.Result:1.Quantitative research results:(1)The baseline data of the two groups were compared before the intervention, and the analysis found that there was no significant difference in the age, education level, current residence, marital status, monthly family income, medical insurance type, disease stage, and surgical method of the two groups of patients(P>0.05),comparable.(2)Before the intervention, the total score and dimensions of "CPSS" in the intervention group and the control group(t=-0.621,-1.649,0.535,P>0.05),and each dimension of "HADS"(t=0.389,0.347,P>0.05),"HHI" total score and each dimension(t=-0.732,0.698,-1.166,-0.498,P>0.05),the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and it was comparable.(3)After the intervention, the total score of "CPSS" and the sub-dimension scores of tension and loss of control in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=-3.817,-2.651,-2.997,P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the dimension of loss of control in the comparison of the difference before and after the intervention(P>0.05).(4)After the intervention, the "HADS-A" and "HADS-D" sub-dimensions of "HADS" in the intervention group were significantly reduced, and the difference was statistically significant(t=-2.832,-2.683,P<0.05),The difference between the two groups before and after the intervention was also statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)After the intervention, the total score of "HHI" and the sub-dimensions of positive attitude, positive action and intimacy in the intervention group were significantly different from those in the control group(t=-4.943,2.228,2.640,3.732,P<0.05).),but there was no significant difference in the dimension of positive action in the comparison of the difference before and after the intervention(P>0.05).2.Qualitative research results:According to the experience of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy after participating in the intervention, the following 3 themes have been extracted, covering 7sub-themes:(1)Enhancing psychological stability: promoting physical and mental connection and accepting imperfection;(2)Effectively coping with stress: active self-regulation,social gain Support and relax repressed emotions;(3)Evaluation of activities: with diversity of expression, willing to participate in activities. Conclusion:Mindfulness art therapy,as a new intervention mode, creatively combines mindfulness with art.The application of mindfulness art therapy can reduce the level of perceived stress, actively regulate anxiety and depression and other negative emotions in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, and effectively improve the patient’s level of hope.It is an effective intervention method to regulate emotions.
