Background and Objective: In recent years, new antidiabetic drugs sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors(SGLT2i)have been unexpectedly demonstrated to have prominent cardiovascular benefits, there cardiovascular benefits are mainly found in the area of heart failure.Moreover,SGLT2 i have also been found to have the potential to reduce blood pressure and ameliarate left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH)in some studies at abroad. However, there are few relevant researches in China. In this study,short-term intervention of dapagliflozin,a type of SGLT2 inhibitors, was conducted in T2 DM patients with hypertension and LVH to observe the effect of dapagliflozin on blood pressure and LVH in T2 DM patients with hypertension and LVH.Methods:A total of 80 patiens of T2 DM with hypertension and LVH who were hospitalized in Affiliated Hospital of Jianghan University from September 2020 to March 2021 were selected. On the basis of random number table method, paients were assigned to the experimental group and the control group with single number and double number respectively, each group had 40 patiens. The control group received conventional treatment,on the basis of treatment of the control group,dapagliflozin(oral,10mg/d)were added to the experimental group.Blood pressure, left ventricular mass index(LVMI)based on body surface area, interventricular septum thickness(IVST),heart rate, left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),body weight and uric acid were compared after 6 months of continuous treatment. Results: After 6 months of treatment, blood pressure,LVMI,IVST,body weight and uric acid in the experimental group were significantly reduced in contrast to the control group(P < 0.05),while there were no significant differences in LVEF and heart rate between the experimental group and the control group(P > 0.05).Conclusion: In T2 DM patients with hypertension and LVH,the addition of dapagliflozin can further enhance the efficacy of conventional treatment in reducing blood pressure and improving left ventricular hypertrophy.
