Public value,as one of the important theories gradually entering the research field of Chinese scholars in recent years,plays an extremely important role in eliminating people’s panic in a risk society and maintaining social stability.With the advent of the Internet era,with the constant blessing of the ever-changing network technology and media technology,the media has reconstructed the new communication context,communication mode and communication relationship,which has brought new opportunities and challenges to the communication of public values.At the same time,the occurrence and development of health risk events themselves will also be affected by various factors,with the characteristics of multiple causes.Therefore,higher requirements are put forward for the mainstream media in the process of carrying out relevant reports and achieving good public value communication effects.Therefore,it is necessary for us to think about what are the influencing factors for the mainstream media to achieve a good public value communication effect in the process of reporting health risk events,what are the differences between different factors and combinations of factors on the communication effect,and how to understand and apply them.Based on this,the main content of this thesis is to study the main factors that influence the public value communication effect of mainstream media in China in the process of reporting health risk events,and to explore the interaction among these factors,which is also a realistic problem that we need to pay attention to at present.With qualitative comparative analysis as the main research method,and Bozeman’s explanation and exposition of public value in Public Values: An Inventory as the main reference,after QCA research and analysis,it is finally concluded that there are seven influencing factors of public value communication effect of mainstream media in China in the process of reporting health risk events: social cohesion,citizen participation,political loyalty,responsiveness,timeliness,professionalism and equality,among which citizen participation and political loyalty are the necessary conditions,and the remaining five factors.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Political loyalty and citizen participation are the key factors to achieve the effect of public value communication;(2)Responsiveness and professionalism are conducive to protecting citizens’ right to know;(3)Timeliness and equality are conducive to maintaining the discourse order of mainstream media;(4)Mainstream media should take the initiative,which is conducive to building a multi-public value consensus with good effect;On this basis,four communication strategies are put forward:(1)Keep pace with the times: pay attention to the law of reporting;(2)Keep improving: improve the quality of information dissemination;(3)Down-to-earth: seriously respond to social concerns;(4)People-oriented: help spread public value.
