Objective In this study, the T2-mapping characteristics of knee cartilage in Mongolian and Han healthy adults and ethnic groups were compared and discussed by scanning them with regular and T2-mapping sequences in Mongolian and Han healthy adults with knee osteoarthritis(KOA),and the T2 value database of knee cartilage in healthy adults of Mongolian and Han ethnic groups was preliminarily established. Methods The knee joints of 73 healthy adults(including 38 Han and 35 Mongolian)and 71 patients with knee osteoarthritis(including 38 Han and 33 Mongolian)underwent regular MRI sequence :Osag T1 FSE,Osag T2 FSE,Ocor T1 FSE,Ocor T2 FSE,OAx T2 FSE and special sequence: T2-mapping sequence scanning by SIEMENS Skyra 3.0T magnetic resonance machine. After scanning, upload the image to the syngo.via software that comes with Siemens, perform image fusion on the scanned T2-mapping original image, and perform cartilage clipping and data measurement on the fusion map. After scanning, upload the image to the syngo.via software that comes with Siemens, perform image fusion on the scanned T2-mapping original image, and perform cartilage clipping and data measurement on the fusion map. After that, the T2 values of each group were statistically analyzed. Results 1.There was no significant difference between Mongolian and Han nationality in T2 values of the cartilage of knee joint in healthy adults(P>0.05).There were significant differences in T2 values of knee cartilage among the regions of interest in healthy adults(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in T2 values of each region of interest between different genders(P>0.05).2.There was no significant difference in T2 values between Mongolian and Han nationality in patients with knee oa(P>0.05).The T2 values of knee cartilage in KOA patients were significantly different among the regions of interest(P<0.05).Except for the medial condylar cartilage of the femur of han nationality, there was no significant difference in T2 values of the areas of interest between different genders(P>0.05).Except for the medial condyle of femur at the<50-year-old age group, there was no significant difference in T2 values of all regions of interest between Mongolian and Han.Except that the T2 value of the medial femoral condyle cartilage in Mongolian KOA patients was higher in the 50-60-year-old age group than in the <50-year-old age group, there was no significant difference in the T2 values of the other regions of interest among all age groups. Conclusions 1.There was no significant difference in MRI and T2 of knee cartilage between Mongolian and Han healthy adults.2.There were no significant differences in MRI and T2 values between Mongolian and Han osteoarthritis patients.3.The T2 value database of normal adult knee cartilage was established preliminarily, which laid a certain foundation for the establishment of T2 value reference range. |
