Objective:To observe the clinical effect of moxibustion versus conventional acupuncture for treating postmenopausal osteoporosis of spleen kidney yang deficiency type and compare the difference of clinical efficacy between the two groups,so as to analyze the clinical therapeutic effect and advantages of moxibustion for spleen kidney yang deficiency type postmenopausal osteoporosis,so as to explore more easy and effective targeted treatment for this disease. Methods:A total of 72 patients were included in this study, divided into treatment(n=36)and control(n=36)groups,and 64 effective cases were finally included due to dropout, dropout, and 32 cases in each group. All patients were treated with calcium based therapy, while the treatment group was supervised moxibustion for 10 days for 1 treatment and 3 for 1 treatment procedure; The control group was treated with conventional acupuncture once every other day for 15 times for one course, and both groups were treated for three courses. The bone mineral density(BMD),single item syndrome score of TCM,syndrome change score of TCM,and visual analog scale(VAS)changes before and after treatment and at follow-up were compared between the two groups to evaluate the efficacy differences of treatment modalities between the treatment and control groups.Result:1.Both moxibustion and conventional acupuncture had clinical effects in treating postmenopausal osteoporosis of Yang deficiency type of spleen kidney, with a total effective rate of 93.75%in the moxibustion group and 78.12%in the conventional acupuncture group, indicating that the moxibustion group was superior to the common acupuncture group, although the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The changes of VAS score,BMD,TCM single item syndrome score, and TCM syndrome total score before and after treatment were significantly different between the two groups(P<0.01),suggesting that both groups could improve the pain,BMD,and TCM clinical symptoms of patients with spleen kidney yang deficiency type osteoporosis. The two groups were compared between groups, and the VAS score,BMD and total score of TCM syndrome before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05),suggesting that moxibustion supervision is superior in relieving pain, improving BMD and regulating symptoms of spleen kidney yang deficiency type of TCM.Conclusion:the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis with Yang deficiency type of spleen and kidney by moxibustion is significant, and it is an effective method to relieve pain, improve bone density, and regulate clinical symptoms, which deserves clinical promotion.
