Objective:To compare the recent clinical outcomes of quick transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(Q-TLIF)with minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(MIS-TLIF)for single-segment lumbar spinal stenosis(LSS)Methods:Retrospective analysis of 50 patients with single-segment LSS who underwent Q-TLIF in 22 cases and MIS-TLIF in 28 cases from September 2021 to October 2022,respectively,in the Department of Spine Surgery of our hospital. There were 8 males and 14 females in the Q-TLIF group,aged(60.32±10.25)years.10 males and 18 females in the MIS-TLIF group,aged(55.82±14.85)years.The length of hospital stay, time on the floor, hemoglobin(Hb)reduction, incision length, operative time, intraoperative bleeding, preoperative and postoperative visual analogue scale(VAS),Oswestry dysfunction index(OSDI)were compared between the Q-TLIF and MIS-TLIF groups.Oswestry disability index(ODI),intervertebral space height, intervertebral foramen height.Results:1.the time to the ground, incision length, intraoperative bleeding, and operative time were less in the Q-TLIF group than in the MIS-TLIF group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),while the number of fluoroscopic X-rays was less in the MIS-TLIF group than in the Q-TLIF group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).For the rest,in terms of length of stay and Hb reduction, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).2.In terms of VAS scores, the Q-TLIF group had lower VAS scores than the MIS-TLIF group at postoperative days 1 and 7,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there were no statistically significant differences between the groups compared before and 14 days after surgery(P>0.05).3.In terms of ODI scores, the ODI scores in the Q-TLIF group were lower than those in the MIS-TLIF group at postoperative days 1,14 and 30,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there were no statistically significant differences between the preoperative groups(P>0.05).4.The postoperative improvement of vertebral space height in the Q-TLIF group(6.14±2.67)was better than that in the MIS-TLIF group(3.57±1.94),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05)compared with the improvement of intervertebral foraminal height.5.complications:1 case of temporary numbness and pain in the left lower extremity in the Q-TLIF group.2 cases of transient lower extremity numbness and pain in the MIS-TLIF group,2 cases of intraoperative infection, and 1 case of incisional fat liquefaction. Conclusion(s):The efficacy of Q-TLIF for LSS patients is better than MISTLIF,with the advantages of better recovery of vertebral space height, faster recovery, less bleeding and less trauma.
