With the rapid development of society,the pressure faced by contemporary college students is gradually increasing,which leads to the frequent occurrence of sleep disorders in college students.The survey report pointed out that the incidence of sleep disorders among college students in China is between 12.92% and 52.84%.After the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic,the incidence of insomnia among college students has further increased.Sleep disorders have a huge threat to the physical and mental health of college students.College students are in a critical period of innovative thinking,learning knowledge,and perfecting their personality.Good sleep and perfect physical and mental health are important conditions for college students’ development.As an exercise with a history of 5000 years,yoga is known as "the treasure of the world".Yoga integrates movement and stillness,promotes the harmony and unity of body and mind,also significantly improves people’s sleep conditions.Therefore,this study takes the students of Huazhong University of science and technology as the main research object,takes yoga as the intervention means,constructs a targeted yoga exercise prescription and practice system,discusses the impact of yoga on the physical and mental health of college students with sleep disorders,provides theoretical and practical basis for improving students’ sleep problems and physical and mental health,improves the quality of College Physical Education and promotes the process of physical education reform.In this study,60 female college students with sleep disorders were intervened in yoga for 12 weeks.Analyze the current situation of sleep and mental health of contemporary college students,and explore the impact of yoga on the health,physical fitness and mental health of college students with sleep disorders.After data statistics,this study mainly draws the following conclusions:1.The sleep quality of college students is generally poor,and the mental health performance is average.26.8% of college students suffered from sleep disorders,11% of college students suffered from depressive symptoms,and there were differences in the sleep quality and mental health of college students in terms of gender,place of origin,whether they were only children or not,and the level of physical activity.2.There is a significant difference between the mental health of college students with sleep disorders and those with normal sleep,and sleep quality is closely related to mental health,and there is a positive correlation between the two.3.Yoga helps to improve the sleep quality of college students with sleep disorders,especially in terms of sleep time,sleep disorders and daytime dysfunction.4.Yoga can help improve the healthy physical fitness of college students with sleep disorders.Yoga can reduce the weight of female college students,improve BMI index,improve the respiratory system function and cardiovascular function,physical flexibility and muscle fitness of college students.5.Yoga can help improve the mental health of college students with sleep disorders,significantly reduce depression and other negative emotions,and improve life satisfaction and positive emotions.
