Short Term Results Of Lens Rotary After Toric ICL Implantation For Correction Of Myopia And Astigmatism

Purpose:To investigate the early rotational stability and possible risk factors along with rotational stability after the Toric-Implantable Collamer Lens(Toric-ICL)implantation for correcting moderate to high myopic and astigmatic eyes.Methods:From January 2022 to January 2023,Toric-ICL intraocular lenses were implanted in 62 consecutive eyes of 36 patients from the Affiliated Eye Hospital of Nanchang University.Anterior chamber depth(ACD),white-to-white(WTW),sulcus-to-sulcus(STS),STS-WTW,the distance between STS plane and anterior surface of the crystalline lens(STSL),and ciliary body inner diameter(CBID)were measured.All patients were followed up for more than 1 week.UCVA,BCVA,IOP,vault,and the rotation of Toric-ICL were measured at day 0,day 1,and week 1postoperatively.The absolute degree of rotation was defined as the difference between the intended and achieved axes.This study aimed to assess the early rotational stability of Toric-ICL and explore the relevant influencing factors.Results:The efficacy index and safety index 1 week postoperatively were 1.04 ± 0.21 and 1.03 ± 0.13.The average MRSE changed from(-8.73 ± 2.59)D preoperatively to(-0.19 ± 0.51)D 1 week postoperatively(t=-25.29,P<0.01).The absolute degree of Toric-ICL rotation was(2.95±2.51)°,(4.27±3.30)°and(4.21±3.74)°at day 0,day 1,and week 1 postoperatively.There was a positive correlation between the absolute degree of rotation and the difference between STS and WTW(r=0.254,P=0.046),which was statistically significant.The vault was(412.90 ±211.09)μm 1 week postoperatively.There was a negative correlation between the vault and the absolute degree of rotation(r=-0.366,P=0.003).Conclusion:V4c Toric-ICL is safe and effective in correcting myopia and astigmatism.This study found that rotation of the Toric-ICL can occur in the early postoperative period,therefore follow-up is necessary during this time.
