| Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine the expression levels and correlation of IL-6,IL-8,IL-17 and IL-33 in peripheral blood of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)complicated with lung cancer(COPD+LC group),simple lung cancer(LC group)and simple chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD group). Methods:From July 2021 to December 2022,36 patients with COPD complicated with lung cancer,30 patients with simple lung cancer and 25 patients with simple lung cancer were admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. After obtaining the patients’ consent and informed consent form signed by them, the peripheral venous blood of the three groups was collected, and the levels of cytokines IL-6,IL-8,IL-17 and IL-33 in the peripheral blood were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The differences of various observation indexes among the three groups were compared and analyzed.Result:1.General information: There was no significant difference in age,BMI and gender composition among the three groups(p> 0.05).2.The results of Mann-Whitney U statistical analysis showed that the expression levels of IL-8(P=0.0001)and IL-17(P=0.017)in COPD+LC group were significantly higher than those in LC group, and the difference was statistically significant. There was no significant difference in the expression levels of IL-6(P=0.364)and IL-33(P=0.288)between COPD+LC group and LC group. There was no significant difference in the expression levels of IL-6(P=0.665)and IL-33(P=0.747)between COPD+LC group and COPD group. There was no significant difference in the expression levels of IL-8(P=0.889)and IL-17(P=0.078)between COPD+LC group and COPD group.3.Spearman correlation analysis showed that IL-33 was positively correlated with IL-8 in LC group(r=0.466,P = 0.009).In COPD group,IL-6 was positively correlated with IL-8(r=0.429,P=0.032),and IL-6 was positively correlated with IL-33(r=0.485,P = 0.014).There was no correlation between the expression levels of IL-6,IL-8,IL-17 and IL-33 in COPD+LC group.4.The correlation analysis between the factor and the severity of COPD showed that the expression level of IL-17 in COPD+LC patients was positively correlated with GOLD grade(r=0.353,P=0.009).There was no correlation between the expression levels of IL-6,IL-8,IL-17 and IL-33 in peripheral blood of COPD group and GOLD grade.5.Wilcoxon statistical analysis of the changes of some patients before and after chemotherapy: in COPD+LC group, there was no significant difference in IL-17 after chemotherapy(P = 0.917),but the expression level of IL-33 increased(P = 0.028),while the expression levels of IL-6 and IL-8 decreased(P = 0.046,P = 0.028,respectively).Conclusion:1.Compared with simple lung cancer patients,COPD patients with lung cancer have more significant inflammatory reactions.2.IL-17 is positively correlated with the severity of pulmonary function damage in patients with COPD with lung cancer, suggesting that IL-17 may be related to the severity of patients with COPD with lung cancer.3.IL-6 and IL-8 may be used as markers to evaluate the prognosis of patients with COPD complicated with lung cancer. |
