Objective:The prevalence of peripheral artery disease is increasing as the population ages, and recent studies found that peripheral artery disease is associated with cardiovascular death and increases the risk of cardiovascular events.Albumin globulin ratio can somehow predict cardiovascular death, but there is little literature on the association between albumin globulin ratio and peripheral artery disease, the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the albumin globulin ratio and the risk of peripheral arterial disease in hypertensive population.Method:This retrospective cross-sectional study recruited a total of 28906 participants from March 2018 to August 2018 in Wuyuan County,Jiangxi Province, and Yuexi County,Anhui Province. We used a generalized additive model to analyze the relationship between the albumin globulin ratio and peripheral arterial disease.Result:A total of 24806 hypertensive people with complete baseline were included in this study. The regression analysis showed a negative correlation between the albumin globulin ratio and peripheral arterial disease when the white ball ratio is used as a continuous variable. We divided albumin globulin ratio into quartiles, overall, compared with Q 1 Group,Q 2,Q 3,and Q 4 groups had a gradually lower risk of peripheral artery disease,Specifically,In the fully adjusted model specifically,,the risk of peripheral artery disease was reduced by 11%(OR: 0.89;95%CI: 0.72-1.11)、27%(OR: 0.73;95%CI: 0.58-0.92)and 35%(OR: 0.65;95%CI: 0.51-0.83)in Q 2,Q3,and Q 4 compared with Q 1 group.Subgroup analyses shows a stronger association between albumin globulin ratio and peripheral artery disease appeared to be more pronounced in the smoking and stroke populations. Conclusion:There is a negative correlation between the albumin globulin ratio and peripheral arterial disease, and the relationship is more significant in smokers and strokers.
