Objective: To explore the effects of Baduanjin exercise intervention on postpartum mental state, social support and quality of life in puerperium women under the guidance of health behavior change integration theory. Methods: The non-random group method was used to select the puerperae who met the admission and discharge standards in the confinement center of a women’s and children’s hospital in Hunan Province from September 2021 to January 2022.The general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the postpartum depression screening scale, social support The rating scale and the SF-36 quality of life scale were used as research tools, which were evaluated before intervention and after 4 weeks of intervention. All data collected were analyzed by SPSS.26.0,and the mean ± standard deviation was used to describe the measurement data, and the chi-square test was used for comparison. The difference of count data between the two groups;repeated measures analysis of variance and generalized estimation equation were used to compare the differences of measurement data between two groups. To analyze the intervention effect of Baduanjin exercise on puerperium women.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants using the method of purposeful sampling to explain the reasons for the quantitative outcomes. Results: A total of 67 puerperium women completed the study, including 35 in the experimental group and 32 in the control group.(1)The independent samples t-test was used for the baseline outcome indicators, and the results showed that there were statistical differences in general health status, energy, emotional function, mental health and PDSS total score(P<0.05).(2)Repeated measures analysis of variance was used for the outcome indicators after the intervention in the experimental group and the control group. The results showed that there was no statistical difference(P>0.05)between the physiological function, physiological function, general health status, energy, social function, emotional function and mental health in the SF-36 scale, but there were significant differences in PDSS total score,SSRS total score, body pain, and statistical significance(P<0.05).(3)General health status, energy, emotional function, mental health and PDSS total score were used as adjustment variables, and a generalized estimation analysis was performed on the outcome indicators after the intervention. The results showed that the PDSS total score and the SSRS total score were statistically significant(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in the scores of SF-36 in all dimensions(P>0.05).(4)Qualitative research results show that after participating in Baduanjin exercise, mothers feel better, feel better, and have better appetite. Conclusion: The Baduanjin intervention strategy based on the integration theory of health behavior change can effectively improve postpartum depression symptoms, social support level and quality of life in puerperium women. The results of this research provides an effective exercise method for women’s intervention in the puerperium in the future. |
