| This topic selects Chinese medicine Platycodon grandiflorum as the research object,based on the literature data recorded Platycodon grandiflorum,to clarify the name,original varieties,authentic changes,harvesting and processing,taste and meridian,efficacy and indications,the development of these six parts can provide reference for the experimental research and clinical application of Platycodon grandiflorum.The literature retrieval scheme was formulated,the retrieval terms,retrieval scope and retrieval methods were determined,and the ancient literature with clear Platycodon grandiflorum description information in the historical literature was retrieved and confirmed in the databases such as China National Edition Library,Chinese Ancient Books Resource Library,Guji Database of National Master Network,Chinese Medical Dictionary,etc.While the ancient literature not included in the database,such as the excavated literature and the newly compiled and published ancient books in recent years,were searched manually.so as to obtain more ancient literature data recorded Platycodon grandiflorum in a wide,comprehensive,accurate and reliable way,and classified according to the name,original varieties,authentic changes,harvesting and processing,taste and meridian,efficacy and indications,and combined with literature research method,historical analysis method and investigation and identification method,etc.All the historical literature recorded Platycodon grandiflorum were sorted out in chronological order and the evolution process and reasons of the name,original varieties,authentic changes,harvesting and processing,taste and meridian,efficacy and indications.The research results are as follows:It is proved that there are many aliases of Platycodon grandiflorum,which are either named after the growth environment or morphological characteristics of its original plants,or the characteristics of its medicinal materials,or the local characteristics or dialects,and some aliases are derived from the confusion of varieties,but the ancient pharmacopoeia literature always uses Platycodon grandiflorum as its official name,but at present,there are still cases of Platycodon grandiflorum,Jini,Sweet Jiegeng,Bitter Jiegeng,South Jiegeng,North Jiegeng and other names given to different medicinal materials in clinical application,in order to fundamentally solve the problem of“different objects with same name” and “same object with different names” of Chinese medicine,the author suggests that the name of Chinese medicine should be unified in clinical practice,such as only with “Platycodon grandiflorum” prescription,can give Platycodon grandiflorum medicinal materials.It is proved that the original plant of Platycodon grandiflorum recorded in the ancient pharmacopoeia literature is Platycodon grandiflorum,a plant of the Platycodon family.According to the chronological evidence,the origins of medicinal Eustoma are: Henan,Shandong,Anhui,Gansu,Shanxi,and then gradually increased Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Hunan,Hubei,Sichuan,Guizhou,Guangxi,Inner Mongolia and the three provinces of Northeast China,the modern medicinal Platycodon grandiflorum origin throughout the country except Lingnan,Xinjiang.Anhui has been one of the main producing areas of Platycodon grandiflorum since ancient times,with the characteristics of wide planting area,long cultivation history,and good quality of Platycodon grandiflorum,which has been widely recognized,but its output has dropped sharply in recent years,and it is suggested that relevant departments take measures to make Anhui a main producing area of Platycodon grandiflorum again,and provide better quality Platycodon grandiflorum medicinal materials for clinical use.It is proved that Platycodon grandiflorum should be harvested in autumn,with heavier,firmer and better quality than that harvested in spring.Since modern Platycodon grandiflorum medicinal materials are mostly sliced and dried for storage,it is suggested not to peel and remove the reed head.The processing of Platycodon grandiflorum needs further research based on the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical medication experience,starting from the four flavors and five flavors of Platycodon grandiflorum and the clinical medication compatibility.It can be concluded that the properties of Radix Platycodon can be summarized as bitter and pungent,flat and slightly warm,non-toxic or slightly poisonous,with a few ancient texts showing "great cold" and "cold".It is widely recognized as "entering the lung meridian",but also "entering the kidney meridian","entering the spleen meridian","entering the gall bladder meridian" and "It also enters the heart meridian,and other niche views.The Shennong Bencao Jing records that Platycodon grandiflorum mainly treats “chest and rib pain like knife stabbing,abdominal fullness,intestinal rumbling,panic and palpitations”,and later herbal works have added some,such as treating sore throat,replenishing qi and blood,lowering gu poison,etc.,but the method does not deviate from the original classics,some of the new effects and indications are derived from the development of clinical medicine,but some are caused by the diseases cured by the Platycodon grandiflorum containing prescriptions being mistakenly attributed to the
