1 Objective After observing the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with scattered needling and opposite needling in the treatment of Bell’s palsy. To compare the efficacy difference between the therapy and the ordinary way,as well as the improvements of the muscle strength of orbicularis oculi and oris muscle on the paralyzed side.So as to optimize the treatment of acupuncture and moxibustion of Bell’s palsy.2 MethodsOn the basic of the grouping method of random number table,66 patients with Bell’s palsy were divided into observation group(acupuncture and moxibustion combined with scattered and opposite needling group)and control group(ordinary acupuncture and moxibustion group),with 33 cases each. Both groups were provided the methylcobalamin dispersible tablets-based therapy. In control group, acupoints on the paralyzed side were selected, such as Yangbai,Quanliao,Dicang,Jiache,Yifeng and Hegu. The rest of acupoints were choosed according to different symptoms and signs. To ignite and place the suitable smokeless moxa in the hospital-made wooden moxibustion box. It’s recommended the patients to lie on the healthy side.Put the box on the paralytic cheek and ear.The operation was taken 40 minutes at a time.Based on control group, the observation group was taken the acupuncture in the orbicularis oculi and oris muscle and nasal musle. The frequency of scattered needlingn is 3-5 times per second.Operating each part for 30-60 seconds. All of the operations are once a day, five times a week.10 times for a course.3 courses in total.Collecting the date of House-Brackmann facial nerve function rating scale(H-B),facial disability index scale(FDI,including FDI physical function score(FDIP)and FDI social function score(FDIS)),manual muscle strength grading examination(eyelid muscle strength and perioral muscle strength)as observation indicators. The changes before and after treatment was compared.3 ResultsThe two groups completed 31 cases respective.(1)Before treatment, there was no clear contrast in gender, age, course of disease,H-B classification,FDIP score,FDIS score, eyelid and perioral muscle strength level between the two groups(P>0.05);(2)Intra group comparison before and after treatment: the previous indexes were compared.H-B classification and FDIS score after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and FDIP score, eyelid and perioral muscle strength level were higher(P<0.05);(3)Contrasts between groups before and after therapy: H-B classification and FDIS score of post-therapy in observation group were obviously lower than control group(P<0.05),and FDIP score, eyelid and perioral muscle strength level in observation group were higher than control group(P<0.05);(4)Comparison results of curative effect evaluation: the overall effective rate of observation group and control group are 93.55% and 80.65%.After rank sum test, the overall effective rate of the observation group was higher(P<0.05).4 Conclusion(1)The acupuncture and moxibustion combined with scattered and opposite needling,as well as the ordinary acupuncture and moxibustion have evident curative effects on Bell’s palsy;(2)The effect of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with scattered and opposite needling is better than the ordinary acupuncture and moxibustionin in improving the symptoms of Bell’s palsy, orbicularis oculi and oris muscle.
