Objective:After eliminating the influence of confounding factors by Propensity score matching(PSM),we explored the relationship between type 2diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and coronary artery, internal carotid artery siphon, renal artery calcified plaque, and glomerular filtration rate(GFR),so as to improve the evaluation of vascular status and renal function of T2 DM patients,It can help to predict the progression and prognosis of cardiovascular disease and renal disease in T2 DM patients. Methods:A retrospective analysis was made of 163 inpatients who underwent chest CT,head and neck aortic arch CT angiography(CTCoronary Angiography CTA)and abdominal CT including both renal arteries in our hospital from November 2020 to August 2022.The mediastinal window of lung CT,CTA of head and neck aortic arch, and abdominal CT images including bilateral renal arteries were transmitted to Vetra2post-processing workstation, and the volume of calcified plaque in coronary artery, internal carotid artery siphon and renal artery was delineated with measuring tools on the software.Collect clinical data such as age, sex, smoking history, drinking history, blood lipids, blood pressure, glomerular filtration rate, etc.PSM was used to analyze and balance the selection bias between the diabetes group and the non diabetes group.Univariate analysis and multivariate binary Logistic regression analysis were used to explore the effect of T2 DM on calcified plaque in the above three vessels and GFR in patients after PSM analysis. The Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore whether there was statistical significance between the volume of calcified plaque of coronary artery, the volume of calcified plaque of internal carotid artery siphon and the volume of calcified plaque of renal artery in T2 DM patients.Results:1.After PSM,63 patients in DM group and 63 patients in non-DM group were obtained. There was no statistical significance in age, sex, smoking, alcohol consumption, hypertension and hyperlipidemia in the two groups. The calcified plaque volume of coronary artery, internal carotid artery siphon and renal artery in DM group was higher than that in non-DM group, and the estimated glomerular filtration rate(e Glomerular Filtration Rate e GFR)was lower than that in non-DM group.2.Multivariate binary logistic regression analysis showed that T2 DM was an independent risk factor affecting calcification plaque(OR3.667,95% CI 1.481~9.079,P<0.05),and also an independent risk factor affecting e GFR(OR 0.302,95% CI 0.126~0.722,P<0.05).3.There was a positive correlation between the calcified plaque volume of coronary artery and that of renal artery in patients with T2DM(r=0.468,P<0.05).4.There was no correlation between the volume of calcified plaque in the coronary artery and the volume of calcified plaque in the internal carotid artery siphon in T2 DM patients(r=0.204,P>0.05).Conclusion:T2DM is an independent risk factor affecting arterial calcified plaques, and also an independent risk factor affecting GFR.In T2 DM patients, with the increase of the volume of coronary artery calcified plaque, the volume of renal artery calcified plaque also increased.
