Objective:To analyze the correlation of red blood cell distribution width(RDW),platelet distribution width(PDW)and immuno-globulin E(Ig E)levels with pulmonary function and minimum induced cumulative dose(Dmin)in adult patients with bronchial asthma. Methods:A total of 348 cases of suspected asthma patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2021 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients take the pulmonary ventilation function, bronchial diastolic test(BDT)or bronchial provocation test(BPT).Divide the patients into three groups,BDT-positive patients are used as a asthma group A(n=109),BPT-positive patients are used as a asthma group B(n=120)and non-asthma group(n=119).The RDW,PDW and Ig E levels of the three groups were detected, and the pulmonary function indexes[Forced expiratory volume in one second/forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC),Forced expiratory volume in one second as a percentage of the predicted value(FEV1%)]were recorded and Dmin were recorded. To analyze the changes of RDW,PDW,Ig E level and its correlation with pulmonary function and Dmin in adult patients with asthma.Result:1.There was significant differences in RDW,PDW,Ig E levels and FEV1/FVC,FEV1%pred among the three groups(P<0.05).For pairwise comparison:RDW,PDW,Ig E levels in asthma group A and asthma group B was higher than in non-asthma group, and RDW,PDW levels was significantly increased in asthma group A,FEV1/FVC,FEV1%pred value was significantly decreased, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.In the asthma group A:RDW and PDW levels were not correlated with FEV1/FVC and FEV1%pred(P>0.05),Ig E was negatively correlated with FEV1/FVC,FEV1%pred,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.In the asthma group B:RDW was not correlated with FEV1/FVC and FEV1%pred(P>0.05),RDW was negatively correlated with Dmin value(P<0.05,r=-0.45).There was no correlation between PDW and FEV1/FVC,FEV1%Pred,Dmin(P>0.05).There was no correlation between lg E and FEV1/FVC(P>0.05),but it was correlated with FEV1%pred,Dmin(P<0.05,r=0.19;P<0.05,r=-0.34).Conclusion:RDW level was high in patients with asthma, and although it had nothing to do with pulmonary function,it was negatively correlated with Dmin value, suggesting that RDW may indirectly reflect the status of Airway inflammation and Airway hyperresponsiveness(AHR)in patients with asthma. There was no correlation between PDW and pulmonary function index and Dmin value.Ig E was negatively correlated with FEV1/FVC,FEV1%pred and Dmin, suggesting that Ig E could reflect the degree of pulmonary function impairment in patients with asthma, thus providing certain reference value for evaluating the severity of asthma and AHR.
