Objective:To study the prognosis of nonsurgical method and its related influencing factors, the auricle morphology of infants with auricular deformities were compared before and after using the ear molding method. Methods:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, screened 118 cases(175 ears)which is diagnosed as congenital auricular deformity and using the non-surgical technic, aged 0-330 days.A retrospective analysis and long-term follow-up were performed on the auricle morphology before and after treatment.Children were divided into four groups according to their:group 1(97 ears)with initial treatment age ≤ 1 week, group 2(33 ears)withl week<initial treatment age ≤42 days, group 3(31 ears)with 42 days<initial treatment age ≤90days,and group 4(14 ears)with initial treatment age>90 days.According to the types of deformities, they are divided into 9 types:Prominent Ear(22 ears),Lop Ear(25 ears),Cup Ear(40 ears),Cryptotia(25 ears),Stahls Ear(11 ears),Helical Rim abnormality,(20 ears),Conchol Crus)(3 ears),Constricted Ear(12 ears),and mixed deformity(17 ears).Data on gender, age of initiating treatment, gestational age, family history, feeding patterns and other exposure history were collected.to analyze the short-term and long-term efficacy of the ear non-invasive appliance and its relationship with the relevant exposure history. The shortand long-term outcomes of nonsurgical technic and it’s relationship with exposure history were analyzed.Results:1.The overall effective rate of non-surgical technic was 93.2%,and the long-term recurrence rate was 5.7%.2.The effective rate of correction in each group:99%in Group 1,94%in Group 2,87.1%in Group 3,and 64.3%in Group 4.There was no statistically significant difference between Group 2 and Group 3(P>0.05),while the differences between the other groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The success rate of correction of different deformity categories was analyzed, and it showed that the effective rate of the prominent ear with a was lower than that of the other categories.4.By analyzing the influence of different factors on prognosis,it is concluded that family history is an independent risk factor for short-term and long-term prognosis, gender is an independent risk factor for short-term prognosis, and breast feeding is an independent risk factor for long-term prognosis.Conclusion:1.Nonsurgical ear correction system could effectively correct congenital auricle deformity in infants;2.Different initial treatment ages may may have an influence on the curative effect,The earlier the age of initial treatment, the shorter the period required for noninvasive auricular correction, and the better the prognosis may be;3.The prognosis of non-invasive correction of the prominent ear is worse than that of other deformities;4.Having a family history may affect the prognosis of nonsurgical ear correction and may cause recurrence.
