Objective:Based on the blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging(BOLD-f MRI)technology, the activated brain regions caused by acupuncture at Siguan,Hegu and Taichong were observed and compared, and the correlation between the specificity of the distribution of activated brain regions in acupuncture group and its clinical application was discussed;Compare the changes of low frequency amplitude(ALFF)indicators in the resting state of Siguan acupoints before and after acupuncture, and explore the mechanism of the sustained effect of acupuncture on the central nervous system. Methods:According to the inclusion criteria,17 healthy right-handed subjects were recruited. Each subject conducted a total of 3 trials, with an interval of 7days between each trial.Using 3.0T magnetic resonance scanner, collect brain Bold-f MRI signal data of the subjects at different tenses of acupuncture at Siguan acupoint, right Hegu acupoint, and right Taichong acupoint in sequence;Apply software packages such as SPM12,DPASFA,and XJVIEW to post-process and statistically analyze image data, obtain the activated brain area positions and voxel values of the acupuncture states of Siguan,Hegu, and Taichong points, and obtain the ALFF values of the brain area before and after the resting state of Siguan point acupuncture.Results:1.Acupuncture at Siguan points activates brain areas: the positive activated areas include bilateral posterior cerebellar lobe, lower semilunar lobule, anterior lobe of cerebellum, left precentral gyrus(BA6),inferior temporal gyrus, thalamus, posterior cingulate gyrus, inferior parietal marginal angular gyrus, right supramarginal gyrus gyrus(BA40),parahippocampal gyrus, triangular inferior frontal gyrus, and dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus; The negative activation area includes the right central posterior gyrus, suboccipital gyrus(BA19),and middle frontal gyrus.2.Acupuncture at the right Hegu point activates brain areas: the positive activated areas include bilateral supramarginal gyrus, left temporal pole, middle temporal gyrus, inferior frontal gyrus at the guide cap, right anterior lobe of cerebellum, insula, posterior central gyrus, and inferior occipital gyrus; No significant negative activation of brain regions.3.Acupuncture at the right Taichong point activates brain areas: the positive activated areas include the left paracentral lobule(BA4),medial and paracingulate gyrus, the right anterior lobe of cerebellum, hippocampus, suboccipital gyrus, and posterior central gyrus; No significant negative activation of brain regions.4.Acupuncture at Siguan acupoint compared to Hegu acupoint for differential activation of brain areas: the positive activation of brain areas includes the left cortex around the talus fissure(BA18),the inferior parietal marginal angular gyrus(BA7),the right inferior temporal gyrus, superior temporal gyrus(BA42),and superior occipital gyrus(BA19);The negatively activated brain area includes the left thalamus.5.Acupuncture at Siguan compared with Taichong differentiated activated brain areas: positive activated areas include bilateral dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus, right orbital superior frontal gyrus, left rectus gyrus(BA11);The negative activation area includes the left superior temporal gyrus, transverse temporal gyrus, bilateral medial and paracingulate gyrus.6.Compared with the resting state before acupuncture, the resting state ALFF value increased after acupuncture at Siguan: right supramarginal gyrus(BA40),angular gyrus(BA39),supplementary motor area(BA6),anterior cingulate gyrus and paracingulate gyrus, left anterior cuneiform lobe(BA7),middle frontal gyrus, and cortex around the talus fissure;Reduced ALFF value in brain area: right orbital inferior frontal gyrus.Conclusion:1.Acupuncture at the Siguan point mainly activates cognitive, emotional, and motor related brain regions, and treats related diseases through the synergistic effect between brain functional regions.2.The brain response caused by needling the four guan points is not a simple superposition of the responses when separately needling two single points, but rather an interaction that produces a new response mode.3.Compared with the resting state before acupuncture, the changes in ALFF values of multiple brain regions in the resting state after acupuncture at Siguan point are correlated with the clinical indications of acupoints, indicating the existence of sustained effects of acupuncture. |
