Objective: To explore the analysis of causes and corresponding countermeasures affecting patients with unplanned readmission for benign anal diseases. Methods:The sociodemographic data, clinical and diagnostic characteristics of patients with unplanned readmission in the anorectal ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University between January 2015 and December 2021 were retrospectively analysed.100 cases of unplanned readmission patients were selected in a 1:1 ratio under the matching conditions of basically the same admission time, degree of disease and economic level, and the relevant clinical data of the two groups were collected. The two groups were compared and the risk factors associated with unplanned readmission in patients with benign anorectal disease were analysed. Results: A total of 13,884 patients with benign anorectal lesions were identified during the study period, including 100 unplanned readmissions, with an unplanned readmission rate of 0.7%,and 30 patients(30%)who underwent re-operation during the unplanned readmissions.Based on the results of the univariate analysis, patients were found to be statistically significant(p<0.05)in terms of socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, age, marriage, occupational classification, health insurance payment status and smoking history,as well as primary diagnosis, surgical procedure, anaesthesia, time to surgical change,VTE score on admission, postoperative VTE score,VTE score on discharge, and surgical class;the significant information obtained from the univariate analysis was analysed using multi-factor logistic regression and showed that age, gender, surgical grade and postoperative complications such as haemorrhagic infection were independent risk factors for unplanned readmissions(p<0.05).Conclusion: Age,gender and surgical grade of patients with benign anorectal lesions and postoperative complications such as bleeding infections may be relative risk factors for unplanned readmission.Patients who present with unavoidable unplanned admissions should be adequately assessed when necessary emergency preparations are made to minimise postoperative complications, reduce readmission rates, identify and improve patients’ postoperative symptoms in a timely manner and improve their prognosis.
