Objective: To probe into the effect of anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)primary repair technology on knee joint function recovery after acute proximal ACL injury. Methods: The follow-up data of 50 patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury admitted to the Department of Joint Sports Medicine,Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2019 to March 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.Of them,20 cases were treated with ACL primary repair and 30 cases were treated with ACL reconstruction with preserving-remnant.All patients were followed up for more than one year. The basic information, surgical data, knee joint function, proprioception and imaging parameters of the two groups were evaluated and counted. Results: 1.The IKDC score,Lysholm score and tibial forward movement distance between the two groups were not significantly different at any time points.(P > 0.05).2.During different follow-up periods, there was no significant difference in threshold to detection of passive motion(TTDPM)and joint position reproduction(JPR)between the two groups(P > 0.05).3.No significant difference was found in MRI parameters between the two groups 3 months after operation.(P > 0.05).4.The primary repair group has shorter operation time and lower hospitalization expenses than ACL reconstruction with preserving-remnant group(P < 0.05).Conclusion: For patients with acute anterior cruciate ligament proximal tear and high tissue quality of the residual, primary ACL repair can achieve similar clinical effects as ACL reconstruction with preserving-remnant in the early postoperative period, with restoring knee joint stability and promoting knee joint proprioception recovery.Clinically,ACL primary repair can be regarded as a treatment choice for acute anterior cruciate ligament injury.
