The Clinical Effect Of Bushen Huoxue Decoction In Treating Low Back Pain From Adjacent Segment Degeneration After Single Segment Lumbar Fusion

Objective:To verify the safety and efficacy of Bushen Huoxue Decoction in the treatment of low back pain symptoms of adjacent segmental degeneration after single-segment lumbar fusion,to provide a clinical basis for its promotion,and to provide a more optimal treatment plan for the clinical treatment of low back pain symptoms of adjacent segmental degeneration after single-segment lumbar fusion.Methods:A total of 60 cases were collected from patients who attended the spine surgery clinic of the Second Hospital of Fuzhou from December 2021 to January 2023,who met the diagnosis of adjacent segment degeneration after single-segment lumbar fusion and had symptoms of low back pain,and all patients included in the study voluntarily signed this informed consent form.Patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were divided by lottery(random number table method)into 30 cases in the control group(conventional treatment: oral pain medication,daytime lumbar circumference protection,and functional exercise of the lumbar back muscles)and 30 cases in the treatment group on the basis of conventional treatment,200 ml of kidney tonic and blood invigorating soup was added: warmed 30 min after breakfast and dinner each.the course of treatment was 6 weeks.(The time difference with the use of western medicine was at least half an hour to avoid drug interactions).After collecting the data,statistical analysis was performed and final conclusions were drawn.Results:Fifty-eight cases were collected and screened for complete follow-up data.1.The general baseline information(age,gender,disease duration situation)and each observed baseline situation of the two groups before treatment were compared between groups,and the results showed that the differences were not statistically significant(P > 0.05)and were comparable.2.NRS scores: The NRS scores of the two groups before treatment,after 3 weeks of treatment and after 6 weeks of treatment were compared within and between groups,and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.Lumbar JOA scores: The differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05)when comparing the lumbar JOA scores of the two groups before treatment,after 3 weeks of treatment and after 6weeks of treatment.4.Total oral dose of celecoxib:The total oral dose of patients in the two groups was compared between groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).5.Evaluation of JOA efficacy: The difference between the two groups after 6 weeks of treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The short-term efficacy and safety of Bushen Huoxue Decoction on the symptoms of degenerative low back pain in adjacent segments after single-segment lumbar spine fusion surgery are good.It can effectively relieve patients’ pain symptoms,improve patients’ daily living ability,and reduce the use of oral NSAIDs;This treatment regimen is safe and effective,and can provide a reference for clinical treatment of symptoms of adjacent segment degenerative low back pain after single-segment lumbar fusion.
