The combination of virtual reality technology and medical field is a current hot research.Acupuncture and moxibustion in traditional Chinese medicine have high requirements for acupuncture manipulation skills,and the existing teaching methods and environment are difficult to meet the needs of acupuncture and moxibustion learning and practice.The combination of acupuncture teaching and virtual reality is helpful to improve the efficiency of learners learning acupuncture and the technical level of acupuncture practice.In order to realize the dynamic simulation of skin deformation in the process of virtual acupuncture,this paper studies two aspects of skin deformation model and skin soft tissue collision detection.First,in order to realize the realistic visual effect of skin deformation,the structure of the particle spring model is improved.In this paper,a scaled mesh structure is proposed,which is applied to the construction of the surface model of the mass spring model.The structure is scaled with the topological structure of the mass spring model,which can add spatial hierarchical structure characteristics to the mass spring model,thereby improving the model’s ability to resist collapse under force deformation,speeding up the speed of model deformation recovery,and is more suitable for simulating the deformation process of skin soft tissue.Secondly,in order to detect the real-time collision between acupuncture needles and skin soft tissue,a collision detection process based on hierarchical bounding boxes is designed.This paper divides the collision detection process into a preliminary detection stage and a detailed detection stage.In the preliminary detection stage,the collision detection algorithm of the hierarchical bounding box is realized by constructing the axis-aligned hierarchical bounding box tree of the skin soft tissue,thereby narrowing the collision detection range.In the detailed detection stage,the basic primitives where the model collides are located through the intersection test of the basic primitives of the model,and the collision point in the primitives is addressed by the interpolation method,thus completing the force point of the collision point Location detection.Finally,on the basis of the above algorithm research,an acupuncture learning and practice system with the dynamic simulation function of acupuncture skin deformation is designed and implemented,so as to help acupuncture learners learn and practice better.
