Retrospective Real World Study On Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment Of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Infected By Ruili Delta Novel Coronavirus Variant

Objective: To further objectively verify whether traditional Chinese medicine has curative advantage in treating patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia and observe its safety by observing and comparing laboratory indicators,clinical symptoms at different times,complete fever remission time,nucleic acid negative conversion time,number of patients discharged from hospital,number of patients with worsening disease,as well as TCM symptom scores and TCM clinical efficacy.For the future novel coronavirus pneumonia treatment and drug preparations to lay the foundation.Therefore,a retrospective real-world clinical study on TCM treatment of novel coronavirus pneumonia infected by Ruili Delta variant strain was carried out.Methods: A retrospective real world study was used.The classification of patients treated with Qingwen and Jiere prescription in Ruili Dai Medical Hospital was collected as light and ordinary patients in Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia(Trial ninth Edition)and asymptomatic patients in Prevention and Control Protocol of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia(Eighth Edition),TCM syndrome differentiation can be divided into two types: dampness-heat pneumonitis syndrome,dampness-toxin pneumonitis syndrome,patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia in clinical observation period or turbid-toxin immersion type.The symptoms before and after treatment were compared with those of 3 and 7 days after treatment,WBC,Neu,Lym,PLT,IL-6,time of complete fever regression,time of nucleic acid turning negative,number of patients discharged from hospital,number of patients developing to severe and critical type,and integral data of TCM syndrome were statistically analyzed,so as to obtain their changes.Results: A total of 92 patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia were included,including29 common cases(31.5%),52 mild cases(56.5%)and 11 asymptomatic cases(12%).The scores of TCM syndrome before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).The number of patients with fever,cough,shortness of breath,fatigue,general soreness and constipation decreased after 3 and 7 days of treatment with Qingwen Jiere prescription(P<0.05 or P<0.01).In 92 patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia,Lym,IL-6 and CRP were significantly improved(P<0.05)before and after treatment,and the time of negative conversion was 11(8-15)days(referring to the time of the first negative nucleic acid conversion).In 27 patients with abnormal lung CT images,the time of lung absorption was7.09±3.09 days.The complete remission time of 59 patients with fever was 3(1-5)days,and all 92 patients got better and were discharged from hospital.None of the discharged patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia experienced any adverse events during treatment.Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has a unique therapeutic advantage in treating patients infected with the novel coronavirus pneumonia by the Ruili Delta variant.For mild,common and asymptomatic patients with TCM syndromes of damp-heat accumulation of lung,dampness of poison stagnation of lung,turbidity of poison invasion or medical observation period(weakness accompanied by gastrointestinal discomfort),the examination indexes,clinical symptoms and TCM syndromes of Qingwen Jiedu formula are improved,and IL-6 and CRP can be reduced to a certain extent.It can also improve the level of Lym and is safe to use.No adverse reactions of Qingwen Jiere formula have been found.
