Objective:Through the compilation of Dai medicine meridian theory and pain-related literature, combined with the data mining of Dai medicine pain clinical cases,we explore the rules of Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory in the treatment of pain, expand the clinical application of Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory, provide support for the promotion of Dai medicine characteristic treatment techniques, and provide more multidimensional ideas for the treatment of pain.Methods:1.Through the method of literature research,we reviewed the ancient scriptures of Dai medicine and literature related to Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory and pain, compiled and summarized the composition and functions of Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory;analyzed the causes and mechanisms of pain according to Dai medicine’s basic theory;summarized the rules of Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory in the diagnosis of pain.2.Through the method of field research,we screened the cases that met the criteria based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, entered them into the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support Platform System(V3.0)" after pre-processing,used the software for data mining, discussed the results based on the analysis, and investigated the external treatment of pain in Dai medicine. The data will be discussed based on the results of the analysis, and the patterns of external treatment of pain in Dai medicine will be investigated. The patient’s case data as well as the relevant videos and pictures during the consultation and treatment were collected, and the specific techniques, meridians and reaction point locations in the external treatment of pain were described in detail.By analyzing the basic information of patients, external treatment methods, selection of meridians and acupuncture points, and external treatment drugs,we summarize the rules of Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory in the treatment of pain.Results:1.The results of the theoretical study are as follows: through the collation and analysis of Dai medicine meridian and sinew theory and literature related to pain,it is believed that the meridian tendon system consists of five parts: meridians, tendons, reaction points, chakras and wind towers, with "ten main meridians" as the main body, which has the physiological functions of transporting energy, exchanging energy, maintaining the balance of the four towers and five yin,and linking the whole. The main pathogenesis is divided into two categories: "pain caused by disorder" and "pain caused by loss of glory",and its causes are also summarized in the categories of external evil, internal injury to the internal organs, poor diet, and disorders of labor and relaxation. The clinical diagnosis of the causes and mechanisms of the disease is based on the state of the tendons and the properties of the pain, which provides a reference for the selection of the treatment method of Dai medicine.2.The results of the clinical study are as follows:(1)A total of 96 patients with 288 consultations were included in this study, including 18 consultations for head and facial pain;54 consultations for neck and shoulder pain;51 consultations for chest and abdominal pain;27 consultations for low back pain;108 consultations for limb and joint pain;and 30 consultations for other pain. The age group of pain patients in this study was 50-59 years old, suggesting that the middle-aged group was the most common group for the onset of pain;in terms of gender ratio, the ratio of men to women was 1:2,and the proportion of women was much higher than that of men.(2)There are 94 major reaction points of the ten main meridians of pain,including16 major reaction points of the right and left eye veins,26 major reaction points of the right and left nose veins,8 major reaction points of the right and left ear veins,6 major reaction points of the middle veins,34 major reaction points of the finger veins, and 2major reaction points each of the second yin and genital veins.(3)The seven external treatment methods used most frequently in this study were,in order of frequency: medicine wrapping therapy, dragging and rubbing medicine therapy, tui na massage therapy, sleeping medicine therapy, pricking medicine therapy, pounding tendon therapy, and fumigation therapy.(4)This study involved a total of 178 externally treated Dai medicines for pain, and the ones with a frequency of 90 times or more were turmeric, flame flower, green cow bile, black heart tree leaves,wind-removing herbs, wide tendon vine, ice sheet leaves, vine leaves, purple ginger, safflower, dry lotus grass, lachrymum leaves, sumac, hemp pimples, and horse blue.Pain external treatment drugs medicinal properties to warm, cold, flat mainly, taste to sweet, pungent, bitter more common, drugs are mainly concentrated in the three elements of wind, earth and water. The drug classes are blood activating and blood stasis relieving drugs, heat clearing drugs, table relieving drugs, and warming drugs. Two pairs of commonly used drugs were obtained by association rule analysis, namely turmeric-flame flower and turmeric-purple ginger.Conclusion:1.Based on the results of the theoretical study we may conclude that the meridian system consists of the meridian substance part and the meridian energy source, the meridian substance part consists of meridians, sinews and acupuncture points, and the meridian energy source consists of chakras and wind elements, with the "ten main meridians" as the main body, which has the physiological function of transporting energy, exchanging energy, maintaining the balance of the four elements and the five senses function, and linking the whole. The onset of pain is due to internal and external factors, internal factors are diet, fatigue, and disorders of the five senses function;external factors are seasonal climate, geographical environment, and bruises.Pain is the result of the disorder of the four elements, the derangement of the meridian and sinew, and the failure of three parts of the human body. The main pathogenesis can be summarized into two categories: "pain caused by disorder" and "pain caused by loss of glory".The diagnosis of pain is based on the examination of the state of the meridian and sinew, supplemented by the identification of the properties of the pain, using a multiple identification method combining the identification of the internal organs, the identification of the three disks, the identification of the four elements and the five senses function, and the identification of the meridian and sinew.2.Based on the results of the clinical research we may conclude that:(1)The selection of external meridians for the treatment of pain in Dai medicine follows the principle of "division of meridians for main treatment".The left and right eye veins and the left and right ear veins are mainly applied to the treatment of pain in the head and face, chest and abdomen, and the joints of the four limbs;the middle vein, the two yin veins and the genital vein mainly treat pain in the chest and abdomen;pain in the neck and shoulder, chest and abdomen, waist and back, and the joints of the four limbs can be treated from the finger veins and the left and right nose veins.(2)The main reaction points of the ten main meridians involved in this study for pain were distributed near the spine,at large joints,at the starting and ending locations of meridians,at the turning points of meridian travel, and around the painful areas of the body. The selection of external treatment reaction points for pain in Dai medicine follows the principle of "divisional main treatment".The reaction points of the head, face and neck are often used to treat pain in the head, eyes, nose, ears and neck and shoulders;the reaction points of the chest and abdomen are often used to treat diseases related to the respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems;the reaction points of the low back are often used to treat pain in the shoulder and back, lumbosacral region, including respiratory, digestive, reproductive and kidney diseases;the reaction points of the extremities are often used to treat pain in the joints of the extremities. The response points of the extremities are often used for the treatment of painful diseases of the extremity joints.(3)The external treatment of pain in Dai medicine is based on the principle of stimulating meridian qi and regulating energy, and treats pain through the mechanism of moving qi and blood and unblocking meridians, which has distinctive national characteristics.Commonly used therapies include drug wrapping therapy, drug dragging therapy, massage therapy, tendon pounding therapy, fumigation therapy,etc.(4)The medicinal properties of Dai medicine for external treatment of pain are mainly warm, cold, flat, the taste of the medicine to sweet, pungent, bitter most common. The drugs are mainly concentrated in the three elements of wind, earth and water, together with the use of antidotes, showing that the medicine used for pain syndrome has the characteristics of balancing the four elements and combining detoxification and treatment. The external treatment drugs of Dai medicine for pain mainly include blood activating and stasis removing drugs, heat clearing drugs, table relieving drugs and warming drugs.Among the high-frequency Dai medicines for the treatment of pain, turmeric, safflower, flame flower,Qingniu gallbladder and wide tendon vine are effective in tonifying qi and blood, relaxing tendons and channels, and activating blood circulation to relieve pain, showing that Dai doctors mostly use the formula of both attacking and tonifying, benefiting qi and invigorating blood.
