Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of single bundle reconstruction of semitendinosu(ST)and semitendinosus-gracilis(STG)for anterior cruciate ligament(ACL).Methods: A retrospective analysis of 82 patients with ACL injuries treated from January 2020 to january 2021 in the department of sports medicine of the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang medical university was performed, and all 82 patients underwent arthroscopic autologous hamstring ACL single-bundle reconstruction.Among them,41 cases were reconstructed with single ST tendon as ST group and 41 cases were reconstructed with ST tendon and gracilis tendon as STG group.Clinical evaluation included subjective criteria: Lysholm score,International knee documentation committee(IKDC)subjective score;reconstructed anterior cruciate ligament re-rupture rate;functional assessment tests: Lachman test, pivot shift test,one-legged hop test, tibial internal rotation angle, standing flexion angle;and knee flexion muscle strength assessment. Results: Of the82 patients in both groups,no re-rupture of the reconstructed anterior cruciate ligament occurred during follow-up after 1 year. There was no statistical significance in gender, age, injury site, meniscus tear and other baseline data((49)> 0.05);There was no statistical significance in postoperative Lysholm score and postoperative IKDC score between ST group and STG group((49)>0.05);There was no statistical significance in Lachman test, pivot shift test,one-legged hop test and tibial internal rotation angle test((49)>0.05);Standing flexion angle: ST group(119.73±3.91)degrees,STG group(117.17±2.58)degrees,the difference was statistical significance((49)<0.05);There was no statistical significance in flexion muscle strength at 60° of knee flexion between the two groups,in the ST group(178.34 ±10.56)N and in the STG group(177.85±7.57)N((49)>0.05);Flexion muscle strength at 90° and 110° of knee flexion was(187.41±8.83)N and(179.12 ±9.94)N in ST group and(173.49 ± 8.12)N and(170.29 ± 7.97)N in STG group, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant((49)<0.05).Conclusion: In patients with ACL reconstruction, semitendinosus tendon grafts achieve better functional recovery of the knee than semitendinosus–gracilis tendon grafts,so semitendinosus tendon grafts are more suitable for people with higher deep flexion muscle strength requirements.
