Objective:To apply the TCM characteristic chronic disease management program to treat postmenopausal women with metabolism-related fatty liver disease(liver depression and spleen deficiency evidence),observe the clinical efficacy and safety, and explore the TCM characteristic chronic disease management model for treating postmenopausal women with MAFLD(liver depression and spleen deficiency evidence). Methods:The 72 subjects were recruited from Jilin Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and randomly divided into a control group and a test group according to the numerical table method. The control group: basic treatment(education, diet, exercise, etc.)and the trial group: chronic disease management with TCM characteristics based on the control group. Both treatment cycles were 24 weeks. The clinical symptoms, liver CT(liver/spleen ratio),basic physical indicators,ALT and lipids of the test subjects were examined and recorded before enrollment.24 weeks later, the test subjects’ relevant data were examined again and recorded, and the data of both groups were analysed to assess the efficacy.Results:1.Comparison of efficacy of symptoms: the test group(84.38%)was more effective than the control group(64.71%),P < 0.05;2.However,in terms of abdominal distension, abdominal pain and diarrhea, fatigue and chest tightness, the treatment effect was not significant in both groups(P>0.05);3.Liver CT(liver/spleen ratio): the test group(68.75%)was better than the control group(52.94%),P<0.05;4.Basic physical indicators:the test group showed improvement in weight,WHR and BMI(P<0.05),the control group showed efficacy in improving weight and BMI(P< ALT: ALT values decreased in both groups(P < 0.05),with a significant advantage in the test group(P < 0.05);6.The efficacy of the test group was better than that of the control group(P < 0.05);7.Fasting blood glucose: The blood glucose in the test group was lower compared with that before treatment(P < 0.05),and the efficacy of the test group was better than that of the control group(P <0.05).Conclusion:The TCM characteristic chronic disease management model in this trial has better efficacy in the treatment of postmenopausal MAFLD(liver-depression and spleen-deficiency evidence)and better efficacy in improving the TCM clinical symptoms of good tai-qi,insomnia,excessive dreaming and emotional depression as well as improving the liver/spleen ratio without adverse events, indicating that the TCM chronic disease management model is safe and effective in the treatment of postmenopausal MAFLD(liver-depression and spleen-deficiency evidence)and can be further practiced in the clinic.
