Preliminary Study On The Application Of Absorbable Rib Plate In Internal Fixation Of Rib Fracture In Sheep

Objective: To develop an absorbable rib plate to evaluate the effect of internal fixation of rib fracture,and to provide experimental basis for clinical application of this rib plate.Methods: According to the patented technology obtained,the anatomical data of the rib of Mongolian sheep was used as the appearance standard for the manufacture of the absorbable rib plate,and the mechanical data of human rib fracture was used as the mechanical reference standard.PLLA was used as the raw material to manufacture the rib plate,and the mechanical properties of the finished rib plate were tested.The animal model of rib fracture of Mongolian sheep was used,and the animals in the control group and the experimental group were set up.Absorbable rib plate and Huasen pure titanium rib plate were used for internal fixation of rib fracture,respectively,and the effect of fixation was evaluated at 6,12,24 and 52 weeks after surgery.Results: The designed frame plate was successfully produced,and the mechanical properties were tested and met the design requirements.The animal model was established,and the operation of the control group and the experimental group was successfully completed without death,subcutaneous effusion,incision infection or displacement of the fixation device.At 6,12,24,and 52 weeks,CT scans and 3D reconstruction of the ribs showed that the absorbable rib plate internal fixation was satisfactory and degradable.Conclusion: Using absorbable biomaterials to prepare absorbable rib plate for internal fixation of rib fracture can effectively fix the rib fracture,and has the advantages of degradability,which provides a powerful experimental basis for clinical use of absorbable materials for internal fixation of rib fracture.
