The prevalence of depression(Major Depression Disorder,MDD)is high and increasing year by year, especially among adolescents, which poses a serious risk to the physical and mental development of individuals and public health. At present, stress perception in adolescents is widely recognized as one of the important elements influencing the development of depression, but the underlying mechanisms of how stress perception affects the degree of depression are less explored at home and abroad. To this end,the research examines the status and differences in stress perception, experiential avoidance, rumination, and depression in adolescents with depression, analyzes possible risk factors for depression, and investigates the relationship between stress perception and depression and the role of experiential avoidance and rumination in this research. The research used a questionnaire method to measure adolescent depression patients using the self-administered General Demographic Information Questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Stress Perception Scale, the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire,Version 2,the Ruminative Thinking Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory,Version 2.Finally,251 valid data were collected, and the data obtained were organized, statistically and analyzed by using SPSS 26.0.The statistical analysis methods included descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediating effect test, and the results obtained were as follows:1.Adolescents with depression had higher levels of stress perception, experiential avoidance, and rumination.2.Among adolescent depressed patients, there were gender differences in stress perception, experiential avoidance, rumination and depression level, which were higher in females than males;no significant differences were found in whether they were only children, whether they smoked and where they were domiciled;only depression level showed significant differences in whether they had left-behind experience, and depression level was higher in those who had left-behind experience than those who did not.In terms of grade level, only experienced avoidance showed significant differences, and the level of experienced avoidance was higher in college students than in junior high and high school students;in terms of relationship with father and relationship with mother, the level of stress perception and depression showed significant differences, and the level of stress perception and depression was higher in individuals with poor relationship with father and mother than in individuals with average and good relationship.3,In adolescent depressed individuals, stress perception was significantly and positively correlated with experiential avoidance, rumination and depression level;experiential avoidance was significantly and positively correlated with rumination and depression level;and rumination and depression level were significantly and positively correlated.4,Stress perception in adolescents with depression can affect the degree of depression directly or indirectly through three pathways: the separate mediating effect of experiential avoidance, the separate mediating effect of rumination, and the chain mediating effect of experiential avoidance and rumination, which accounted for 38.2%,11.1%,and 22.4% of the total effect, respectively.Based on these results, the present study concluded that the levels of stress perception, experiential avoidance, and rumination were all at high levels in adolescents with depression, and that there was a two-way correlation between stress perception, experiential avoidance, rumination, and depression, and that stress perception could directly affect the level of depression,as well as sequentially affect the level of depression in adolescents through experiential avoidance and rumination. Therefore,in the future prevention and treatment of adolescent disorders, emphasis should be placed on the reduction of objective stressors and the improvement of adolescents’ own psychological quality, and the adoption of acceptance commitment therapy and positive thinking-based interventions to reduce the level of experiential avoidance and rumination in adolescents,to achieve the prevention and intervention of adolescent depression from both social and psychological levels.
