Objective:To understand the general situation of workplace violence,psychological capital,perceived organizational support and job burnout in pediatric nurses.To explore the influence mechanism of workplace violence on job burnout in pediatric nurses.To verify the mediating of psychological capital and perceived organizational support between workplace violence and job burnout in pediatric nurses,so as to provide reference for hospital managers to formulate scientific and reasonable intervention measures,and effectively preventing job burnout of pediatric nurses.Methods:This study was conducted from April to May 2022.Using convenient sampling method,totally 450 pediatric nurses from a hospital in Shanxi Province were selected as the subjects.The general information questionnaire,workplace violence scale(WVS),psychological capital questionnaire(PCQ),survey of perceived organizational support(SPOS),and Maslach burnout inventory(MBI)were used as the survey tools.A total of417 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software.The descriptive statistics was used to describe the workplace violence,psychological capital,perceived organizational support and job burnout in pediatric nurses.T-test,analysis of variance and chi-square test were used to analyze the differences of four main variables in demographic characteristics.Pearson correlation was used to explore the correlation of four main variables.The Process of SPSS was used to analyze the mediating effect of psychological capital and perceived organizational support between workplace violence and job burnout.Results:1.In this survey,the incidence of workplace violence among 417 pediatric nurses was 38.13%,the score of psychological capital was(87.67±19.37),the score of perceived organizational support was(42.54±9.58),and the score of job burnout was(43.41±22.60).The detection rate of job burnout was 66.91%.2.Univariate analysis showed that there were significantly differences in the incidence of workplace violence among pediatric nurses with different employment forms,departments and average monthly income(P<0.05).There were significantly differences in the scores of psychological capital among pediatric nurses with different ages,education levels,employment forms,working years,professional titles and average daily working hours(P<0.05).There were significantly differences in the scores of perceived organizational support among pediatric nurses with different ages,working years and whether the only child(P<0.05).There were significantly differences in the score of job burnout among pediatric nurses with different age,marital status,education levels,average daily working hours and department(P<0.05).3.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the workplace violence,psychological capital,perceived organizational support and job burnout in pediatric nurses were correlated with each other.Specifically,workplace violence was negatively correlated with psychological capital(r=-0.269,P<0.01)and perceived organizational support(r=-0.303,P<0.01),and positively perceived with job burnout(r=0.418,P<0.01).Psychological capital was positively correlated with perceived organizational support(r=0.488,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with job burnout(r=-0.543,P<0.01).Perceived organizational support was negatively correlated with job burnout(r=-0.543,P<0.01).4.The mediating effect analysis suggested that the mediating effect of perceived organizational support and psychological capital as mediating variables alone and as chain mediating variables together between workplace violence and job burnout were significant.The total indirect effect value was 0.174,accounting for 41.43% of the total effect.Respectively,indirect effect 1: workplace violence → perceived organizational support→job burnout,the effect value is 0.093,accounting for 22.15% of the total effect,95% CI [0.042~0.156].Indirect effect 2: workplace violence→psychological capital→job burnout,the effect value is 0.040,accounting for 9.52% of the total effect,95% CI[0.008~0.086].Indirect effect 3: workplace violence→perceived organizational support→psychological capital→job burnout,the effect value is 0.041,accounting for 9.76% of the total effect,95% CI [0.019~0.069].Conclusion:The survey showed that pediatric nurses have a low incidence of workplace violence,their psychological capital and perceived organizational support are in the upper middle level,and their degree of job burnout is high,which should be concerned.Workplace violence affects job burnout through the mediating effect of psychological capital and perceived organizational support and the chain mediating effect of them.Managers can alleviate the influence of workplace violence on job burnout by improving the psychological capital and perceived organizational support of pediatric nurses.
