Objective:To explore the clinical application value of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in analyzing the acute injury of temporomandibular joint(TMJ)non-bony structures, and to evaluate the degree of acute injury of TMJ non-bony structures,so as to provide theoretical basis for its early clinical intervention. Methods:A total of 30 patients with acute injury of TMJ non-bony structure who visited Department of Stomatology of the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from February 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the research objects, including 15 patients with no mandibular fracture and 15 patients with non-condylar fracture, which were respectively recorded as the mandibular non-fracture group and the mandibular non-condylar fracture group. The status of 60 temporomandibular joints in 30 patients was analyzed by MRI examination, and the degree of injury was graded and analyzed. Results:MRI examination showed that 60 sides of temporomandibular joints in 30 patients were injured, the main manifestations of which were disc displacement(83.33%),joint cavity effusion or hematocele(80.00%)and retrodiscal injury(70.00%);In addition,28.33% of the temporomandibular joint had disc perforation.According to the grading of the degree of injury, the constituent ratios of grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ injuries were 10.00%(6/60),61.67%(37/60)and 28.33(17/60)respectively.The constituent ratios of grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ injuries in the mandibular non-condylar fracture group were 6.67%(2/30),86.67%(26/30)and 6.67%(2/30)respectively,and the constituent ratios of grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ injuries in the mandibular non-fracture group were 13.33%(4/30),36.67%(11/30)and 50.00%(15/30)respectively;There was statistically significant difference between the two groups(Z=-2.643,P<0.05).Conclusion:1、MRI can clearly show the injury of non-bone structure, and is an important means to examine and evaluate the acute injury of TMJ non-bony structures;2 、 Patients with mandibular trauma have a high incidence of acute injury to the non-bone structure of the TMJ,and the degree of injurie is mostly severe,MRI examination is recommended to comprehensively evaluate the TMJ states;3、Among patients with mandibular trauma, the degree of TMJ injury is more serious in patients with mandibular non-fracture,and clinical intervention should be actively implemented if necessary.
