| Objective Functional constipation is a common clinical condition, but its pathogenesis is s till unclear and the treatment period is long with high difficulty, which seriously aff ects patients’ quality of life.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)adopts a holistic a pproach, identifies the underlying pattern of symptoms and treats them accordingly, and provides personalized treatment based on different causes and mechanisms. The results are promising. This study uses a clinical survey to analyze the clinical sympt oms, influencing factors, and distribution characteristics of TCM constitutions in fun ctional constipation patients, hoping to identify the epidemiological characteristics of constitutions in this disease.Meanwhile, the high-throughput sequencing technology of 16 Sr RNA is used to detect the structure and diversity of two major microbiota in functional constipation patients, exploring the differences in gut microbiota among functional constipation patients with different TCM constitutions.By combining TC M’s holistic approach with modern microscopic research, this study aims to provide theoretical basis and objective indicators and new ideas for the prevention and treat ment of this disease. Methods From January 2022 to October 2022,a selection of individuals who suffer from functional constipation were recruited from the Digestive Clinic of Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine University Hospital..Fecal samples and questionnaires were collected from patients with functional constipation according to diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria, exclusion criteria and shedding criteria. The clinical, metabolites and physique of TCM were analyzed and studied. The information was collected by questionnaire, the database was summarized, and statistical analysis was performed with SPSS 25.0 software.P < 0.05 was statistically significant.Results1.General: Functional constipation is more common in women than in men and is more common in middle and older age.Fecal traits were most common in type II(dry, hard surface concave convex)and type III(corn-like surface riddled with cracks).Stools accompanied by symptoms of bowel movement were the most common, followed by bloating and abdominal pain.Yang deficiency is functional constipation in traditional chinese medicine the most common physical distribution is the physical type, followed by yin deficiency, phlegm moisture,qi deficiency.2.Alpha diversity analysis revealed no significant difference between the Yang and Yin vacuum groups in terms of major body mass comparison in patients with functional constipation, and neither group had a significant variation in Chao1,Shannon,and Simpson indices(P > 0.05).In β-diversity analysis, the two groups of samples were somewhat isolated on the PC3 axis, suggesting that PC3(9.32%)may be a major factor in the initiation of cationic versus cineal fraction. At the family level, the abundance of Lachnospiraceae was significantly higher in the Yang group than in the Yin group, and that of Veillonellaceae was significantly lower.Bacteroides,Blautia,[Eubacterium] rectale group abundance was significantly higher in the genera group than in the negative group.Lefse analysis showed that the dominant bacteria groups in patients with yang deficiency were Lachnospiraceae,Blautia, and Saccharibacteria. The dominant strains in the Yin deficiency group were mainly the Twin Bacillus(gemella)and Family_XI.Conclusion1.Functional constipation is more common in women than men and is more common in middle and older age.Yang deficiency is functional constipation in traditional chinese medicine the most common physical distribution is the physical type, followed by yin deficiency, phlegm moisture,qi deficiency.2.Among patients with functional constipation, the dominant groups of yang deficiency were Lachnospiraceae,Blautia, and Saccharibacteria. The dominant strains in the Yin deficiency group were mainly the Twin Bacillus(gemella)and Family_XI. |
