A Study On The Changes Of The Four-word’s Semantic System In The New And Old Editions Of A Thesaurus Of Modern Chinese

A Thesaurus of Modern Chinese(TMC)is a thesaurus edited by Mr.Su Xinchun.The old edition was published in 2013,and the new edition will be published in 2021.The revision of the dictionary is the supplement and expansion of the dictionary on the basis of inheriting the old style.For a thesaurus dictionary,revision means to optimize the semantic system to make it more scientific and hierarchical.By comparing the new and old versions of the semantic system of TMC,we can find out the changing characteristics of the semantic system in the new edition of the dictionary,which can not only strengthen the understanding of the development and change of the Chinese lexical system,but also promote the further revision of TMC.In view of the deficiency of the existing research on the semantic system of four-word’s vocabulary,this paper chooses the four-word’s semantic system in the new edition of TMC as the research object and discusses its changes.This paper is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction;The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the four-word’s semantic system comparative study in the new and old editions of TMC.The third chapter examines the changes of four-word’s sememe in the new and old editions of TMC from two aspects:lexical types and sememe contents.The fourth chapter discusses the changes of four-word’s thesaurus in the new and old editions of TMC from two aspects:the scale and content of thesaurus.The fifth chapter summarizes the changes of four-word’s semantic system in the new edition of TMC,analyzes the direct causes of the changes,and summarizes the changes of the modern Chinese four-word’s lexical system reflected by the changes of the four-word’s semantic system and revised principles of the new edition of TMC.The sixth chapter is the evaluation and suggestion chapter,which summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of four-word’s semantic system in the new edition of TMC,and puts forward some suggestions for its shortcomings.The seventh chapter is the conclusion.By updating the old version of TMC,the changes of four-word’s semantic system in the new edition of TMC are reflected in four aspects:The addition and perfection of the sememe of the same lexical type;The underlying semantic field is more scientific,the content is more complete and the semantic granularity is more refined.The change of thesaurus scale is not balanced,the change of first class is the largest,and the change of fifth class is the least.Uneven changes of thesaurus content.The changes of semantic system also reflect the four changes of modern Chinese four-word’s lexical system,including the overall stability of the four-word’s lexical system,the emergence of new four-word’s words,the high activity of the four-word’s words with struggling meanings,and the uneven development of thesaurus.Compared with the old edition of TMC,the new leak on the old version of vacancy and reflect the four-word’s lexical system have more advantages,at the same time,some four-word sememes are in the wrong thesaurus,adding new four-word’s sememe is too little,some obscure four-word’s sememes don’t cut,which are needed to pay attention to in the next revision of TMC.
