Yupian, written by Gu yewang during the Liang and Chen dynasties,is the first historical Chinese dictionary with regular script as the main body, which has a great influence on later generations. This book was edited by Xiao Kai shortly after it was finished, and then it was annotated by sun Qiang of Tang Dynasty. It is known as"Shangyuan version" or "Sun Qiang version"."Shangyuan version" was popular in the world, and Gu’s original "Yupian" gradually disappeared. In the Song Dynasty,Chen Pengnian,Qiu Yong and others revised it according to the imperial edict of "Sun Qiang version",which is known as the Song version of " Yupian".The Song version is popular in the world, and the "Shangyuan version" is gradually disappeared.Different pronunciations are a common language phenomenon in Chinese, which has been studied by many scholars since ancient times, and there are not a few scholars who study the Song version of Yupian. However, there is no exclusive work on the study of different pronunciations in the Song version of Yupian. Therefore, this paper takes the characters of different pronunciations in Yupian of the Song Dynasty as the research object, attemps to make a study of the Song version of Yupian at different levels by using the materials of different pronunciations.First of all,in terms of receiving words and arrangement style,we have made a complete list of characters of different pronunciations by exhaustive statistics. We find out that in the Song version of Yupian, the characters of different pronunciations have four pronunciations at most and two pronunciations at least. The proportion of two pronunciations is the largest and the proportion of four is at least.Secondly,in the aspect of phonetic nature, after comparing the characters of different pronunciations in Yupian of Song Dynasty with the fragments of original Yupian,Zhuanli wanxiangmingyi and Guangyun,we find out that the phonology of Yupian in Song Dynasty has the characteristics of northern phonology in middle ancient times, while the phonology of original Yupian and Zhuanliwanxiangmingyi are closer to southern phonology.Thirdly, from the perspective of characters,we find that homographs, borrowed characters and one word with many forms are the causes of different pronunciations. At last,In the aspect of the relationship between sound and meaning, the external conditions such as the use of "special pronunciation" and the introduction of transliterated loanwords and the internal conditions such as the change of word meaning, which includes the "podu"and the extension of word meaning, will also produce different pronunciations.
