A Study On The Writing Of "September 18th Incident" In Popular Novels During The Partial Anti-Japanese War

The historical view of the 14 years of the Anti-Japanese War not only extends the literature of the Anti-Japanese War to the "September 18 th Incident" in the time line,but also highlights the importance of "September 18 th Incident" as the starting point of the literature of the Anti-Japanese War in the overall perspective from the partial war to the total war.Generally,from the top-down perspective of enlightenment and national salvation of "serious literature",academic circles often ignore the bottom-up patriotic narrative and national salvation call of popular literature,which not only hides the diversity of anti-Japanese war literature,but also breaks the complexity of the evolution of popular literature itself.This paper is based on the historical view of the 14 years of the Anti-Japanese War.By combining the literary creation mechanism of popular novels and the popular novel writer’s own internal factors,this paper tries to find popular novels about "September 18 th Incident" during the Partial Anti-Japanese War,and analyzes the narrative characteristics and social response of popular novels in "September18th Incident".Then it interprets the contradiction between the active integration of popular novels into the theme of anti-Japanese and national salvation and the difficulty to fully integrate into the theme,explores the complex historical dialogue between different writer groups,and explores the reason why popular novels about "September 18 th Incident" are alienated from collective memory.This paper is divided into four parts:Introduction starts from the overall perspective of the Anti-Japanese War.It later explains the reason of choosing "September 18 th Incident" writing as a research object,and the research value and research significance of "September 18 th Incident" writing situation and gives a literature review of related research.Then it clarifies the concept of popular novels under the context of partial war and introduces the main ideas,innovation and deficiency of the research.The first chapter mainly discusses the characteristics of popular novels during "September 18 th Incident".The outbreak of the "September 18 th Incident" stimulated relevant writings.Popular writers quickly grasped the opportunity and wrote many literary writings.The combining of recorded observations,hero chivalry,romantic love and other elements with the "September 18 Incident",is the narration and reconstruction of the personal record under the atmosphere of war,the call to resist aggression and the imagination of Anti-Japanese War,the complex value judgment under national crisis,and the exposure and irony of social phenomena.The second chapter mainly discusses the reason why people wrote the popular novels about "September 18 th Incident" in the partial war period of the Anti-Japanese War.The outbreak of "September 18 th Incident" inspired the patriotism of scholars.They did not abandon the consideration of market factors and the readers.They did not change their position or creation psychology.In addition to the continuation of the traditional creation mode and aesthetic orientation,people wrote out of spontaneous patriotism.As a result,popular novels were actively integrated into the writings of "September 18 th Incident",but it was difficult for them to completely integrate into the writing.The third chapter mainly discusses the social influence of the popular novels about "September 18 th Incident" during the partial Anti-Japanese War.The left-wing camp criticized the "September 18 th Incident" writing of popular writers as "venting literature" and "bizarre content",which concealed the literary views of different groups and the dialogue of the times.In terms of popular literature,"September 18 th Incident" initiated the adjustment of the context of the anti-Japanese war in popular novels,showing a trend of "refinement" to a certain extent.As popular novels about "September 18 th Incident" cannot meet the requirements of the times,hard to support our reconstruction of social reality at that time,and can be easily substituted in content and function,writings about "September 18 th Incident" becomes difficult to obtain the continuous attention and recognition of that time and society,thus gradually alienates it from the collective memory.The writings of "September 18 th Incident" in popular novels during the partial Anti-Japanese War is a combination of the writing mode of popular novels and the elements of "September 18 th Incident" under the dual effects of patriotic emotions and the creation mechanism of popular novels.They represent the simple patriotic emotions and anti-Japanese imagination of the public.Although the left-wing camp severely criticized the writing of "September 18 th Incident" in popular novels at that time,"September 18 th Incident" truly started the adjustment and transformation of popular novels in the context of the Anti-Japanese War.Popular literature also intentionally assumed the function of "serious literature" in this process,showing a trend of "refinement".
