| This paper takes the daily life of "The Third Pole Youth Hostel" in Lijiang as the research object,but the ultimate goal is not the daily life itself,but how to present and express the daily life of "The Third Pole Youth Hostel" in mobilities.Moreover,it is a comparative study on how to present and express the daily life of "The Third Pole Youth Hostel" in words and how to present and express the daily life of "The Third Pole Youth Hostel" in images.In order to facilitate the development of this comparative study,this paper,based on the ethnographic film "Life in a Floating World" made by the author,sorts out the technical factors,space-time presentation and dialogue content contained in each shot.The field diaries and academic reflections presented in words during the study period were used as the comparative texts.Compare the advantages,strengths,shortcomings and limitations of words and images in presenting and expressing the daily life of the"The Third Pole Youth Hostel".The comparative study of written representation and visual representation is not a new topic.However,there are few comparative studies on how to present an anthropological research object from the perspective of written and visual representation at the same time.The attempt of this thesis is based on such a basic point.In view of this,this paper will carry out in-depth comparative research in the following aspects:written means to collect field data and image means to obtain materials;How to describe the space environment by means of word and how to show the space environment by means of image;How to explain the general situation of the field by means of word and how to show the field by means of image;How to describe characters by means of word and how to depict characters by means of image;How to record the dialogue of characters by means of word and how to display the sound and painting synchronously by means of image;How to describe time by means of word and how to show time by means of image;How words describe the course of events and how images show the process through selection and omission;How to use words to express the meaning of daily life in mobilities of "The Third Pole Youth Hostel" and how to convey this meaning by means of image.The purpose of this comparative study is not to draw a clear-cut line between word and image writing,but to fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of word and image in the representation of anthropological research,and how to deal with the relationship between them when word is involved in image text and when image is involved in word text. |
