Research On Yunnan Yipinglang Salt Coal Plant During The Republic Of China (1933-1949)

Salt and coal,as strategic materials of the country,are of great strategic importance to the development and security of the country.During the Period of the Republic of China,due to the influence of frequent wars,chaos in salt management and rising cost of salt frying in Yunnan,the price of salt rose and the phenomenon of "fighting rice and jin salt" appeared,which seriously affected the daily life of the masses and local tax revenue.It is urgent to improve salt production technology,reduce salt price and alleviate salt shortage in Yunnan province.Under this background,Yipinglang Salt coal Plant came into being.From 1933 to 1950,before it was taken over by Yunnan Military Commission management Committee,its name,organizational structure and operation scope changed many times,but what remained unchanged was that it was the earliest and only publicly owned salt production enterprise in Yunnan during the Republic of China.Because of its public nature,Yipinglang Salt coal Plant,with the support of Yunnan Provincial government and Yunnan Provincial Finance Department,used coal as fuel and introduces machines to participate in production,which represents the highest level of modern salt production technology in Yunnan province.During the total war of Resistance against Japan,it made an indelible contribution to the supply of desert salt and fuel for factories and the stability of Yunnan society.At the same time,Yipinglang Salt coal Plant is the most representative enterprise among the productive enterprises of Yunnan local bureaucracy group land system group,which is closely related to the development of land system group.In addition,Yipinglang Salt coal Plant,as the most advanced salt plant in Yunnan in modern times,has limitations such as low mechanization level and backward production mode.Therefore,the study of Yipinglang salt coal Plant can understand the evolution of Yunnan salt production technology,the development of production enterprises in The Land system group,and also provide experience and lessons for the development of modern state-owned enterprises.
