Musical Analysis And Performance Interpretation Of Poulenc’s (?)légie(for Horn And Piano) | | Posted on:2023-09-25 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:H Q Hu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2545306626998949 | Subject:Music | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | With the maturity of valve horn production technology and the development of horn playing skills,horn composers have more freedom and autonomy in creation.Therefore,the number of horn solos has gradually increased.German composers such as Robert Schumann,Johannes Brahms,Richard Strauss,etc.They have all composed works for Horn or chamber music with Horn.In China,French works of Horn are not as well known as German and Austrian horn works and their performers and related scholars are rare but French horn works play a pivotal role in the entire history of horn development.Francis Jean Marcel Poulenc is a French pianist,composer,and a member of Les Six.This article mainly analyzes Poulenc’s 1957 work for horn and piano——élégie.Discusses Poulenc’s unique creative techniques and musical expressions in élégie,and focuses on the study of style characteristics,difficult passages and correct playing method and style interpretation.Finally through the combination of the above text analysis and performance skills,it provides specific and detailed practical suggestions for horn players.The first chapter of this thesis introduces the creative background and style characteristics of "élégie".The second chapter mainly involves two aspects:performance practice and recording version.The author first summarizes the problems encountered in his performance practice and then compares the practical problems with the audio versions of the two horn masters.Explaining the correlation between the audio versions and the practice of specific musical works.The third chapter classifies and analyzes the difficulty of performing "élégie" and proposes corresponding solutions.Through the content of the above three chapters I hopes to let later scholars have a clear and comprehensive understanding of the style characteristics and playing difficulties of Poulenc’s "élégie" and to provide further help for the performers who perform this work in the future. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Horn, Poulenc, (?)légie | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
