Considering the detail of historical materials and political influence,the study of women in the court of the Tang Dynasty was mainly based on the group of empress concubines and court officials.The concubine system has undergone several adjustments in the names and grades of the early and middle Tang dynasties and was roughly finalized after Emperor Xuanzong’s Tianbao year,and the selection criteria are also an important part of its system regulations.The palace’s official system is based on the system of six Shangs and twenty-four divisions as the main body to divide the powers and obligations of female officials,and there are also some special official names at different times.Women in the Tang court pursued political interests by participating in the struggle for imperial power,and in the process became associated with other political forces.On the whole,both concubines and palace officials in the early Tang period had strong political expression,and formed a mutually supportive relationship with foreign relatives;After the Anshi Rebellion,the political power of court women was suppressed,and it was difficult for foreign relatives to monopolize power,and eunuchs gradually occupied the main stage.In addition,the adoption of some court women has political overtones behind it.The fact that women in the Tang court were able to actively participate in politics benefited from the interaction of various fields in the Tang Dynasty,not only the institutional factors at the level of the authoritarian and centralized imperial system and the policies and regulations of the time,the acquisition of women’s inheritance property rights,the distribution of court favours and rewards as the economic basis,and the influence of social customs such as women’s education,traditional rites and religions,ethnic customs,and religious reasons,and the outstanding personalities of some women also provided help for their participation in politics.Historical development is in the same vein,Tang Dynasty court women’s participation in politics compared with the Han Dynasty,and Song Dynasty has a stronger personality and implicit commonality,in general,the political status of Tang Dynasty court women is slightly higher than other dynasties,so political activities are more intense and farther.At the same time,the participation of women in the Tang court changed the Tang Dynasty’s political situation and brought a greater impact on other female groups.
