| The “English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)”puts forward that we should put high value on the cultivation of core English literacy,which strengthens the focus on linguistic ability,cultural awareness,trait of thinking and learning ability on the basis of clearly defining the objectives of English teaching in compulsory education,The ultimate foothold and destination of English teaching is the development and formation of core literacy.Homework is closely related to teaching process.It is not only an integral part of the teaching processes,but also an important means to effectively consolidate and measure students’ learning outcome.With the occurrence of the new curriculum standard and the implementation of the overall teaching of the unit,the design of unit homework is of great significance.How to set clear unit assignment goals and choose interesting homework content is a problem worth pondering.Through combing through the literature on unit assignments in China,the author found that there is little research on English unit assignments.Therefore,the author starts with junior high school English,conducts a thorough research on junior high school English unit homework and discusses the relevant principles that English unit homework design must follow and optimal suggestions for the current junior high school English unit homework design in order to provide English teachers with some reference and reference points for unit assignment design so that an effect of the homework can be achieved truly by reducing burden and improving quality.This paper mainly conducts by means of three methods,namely: questionnaire survey,interview method and classroom observation and proposes the relevant requirements and optimization suggestions for the design of junior high school English unit homework against the background of English core literacy,so as to maximize the value of unit homework in cultivating students’ English core literacy.Through surveys,interviews,and observations on the content and types of homework assignments of English teachers in practice schools,the author finds that the target positioning of unit assignments is ambiguous and the homework content is single.The type of unit work is too rigid,and the training method is fragmented;Lack of diversity in unit operation evaluation,mechanization of guidance forms,etc.In order to better solve the problems existing in the current junior high school English unit homework and make the unit homework better fit with the core literacy,the author proposes optimization strategies on the basis of the viewpoint of core literacy:(1)carefully design the unit homework objectives and establish the awareness of core literacy(2)reorganize the content of unit homework to improve students’ core English literacy(3)expand the type of unit homework and enrich the core literacy training path(4)attach importance to unit homework evaluation and feedback,and implement the value of English core literacy education.Designed to improve the efficiency of the original English unit assignments. |
