Comparison And Translation Strategies Of Chinese And Russian Social Life Proverbs

As a common lexical unit in Chinese and Russian languages,proverbs play an important role in language communication and expression and greatly enrich the expressive force of language.Due to the different geographical environment,history and culture,way of thinking and religious tradition of Chinese and Russian proverbs,social life proverbs,as an important part of Chinese and Russian proverbs,not only have different language characteristics caused by different language systems,but also reflect different semantic and cultural connotations.Therefore,as a Russian student,taking Chinese and Russian social life proverbs as the research object of this paper is to investigate their similarities and differences in depth.Based on this,specific and practical translation strategies are proposed,so as to help Russian students more deeply understand the meaning of Chinese proverbs and their cultural connotations,and enhance their Chinese expression ability.At the same time,it also provides reference for Russian Chinese learners to translate Chinese proverbs across languages.This paper consists of four parts.The first part summarizes the purpose and significance of this study,explains the research object,corpus sources and research methods,sorts out the research status of proverbs at home and abroad,and defines the Chinese and Russian social life proverbs and its epistatic concept.The second part,aiming at Chinese and Russian social life proverbs,compares them respectively from their sources,types,structures,rhetorical devices and other aspects,summarizes the similarities and differences between them,and analyzes the causes of their differences.In the third part,a questionnaire is designed and implemented to investigate Russian Chinese learners’ grasp of the semantic,pragmatic and translation of Chinese social life proverbs,and the results of the questionnaire are statistically analyzed.The fourth part,based on the main difficulties in the translation of Chinese and Russian social life proverbs found in the questionnaire survey,tries to put forward effective translation strategies,so as to provide useful ideas for second language acquisition.Chinese and Russian social life proverbs are an important part of language vocabulary and are frequently used in practical communication.Therefore,the study of Chinese and Russian social life proverbs is conducive to deepening the Russian Chinese learner’ sunderstanding of Chinese and Chinese culture,and it is expected to provide reference for the cross-country comparative study of Chinese and Russian proverbs.
