| Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano composed by French composer Pierre Max Dubois in 1965,is considered a classic work in the saxophone repertoire.The piece consists of four movements,each presenting various styles through different tempos,technical features,and emotional expressions.The first and third movements demand high technical control and musical theory proficiency,particularly in the fast dance style.This paper contains three chapters.The first chapter introduces the composer Dubois’ biography and an overview of the composition.The second chapter provides a brief analysis of the form and music of Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano.In the third chapter,the author analyzes the key and difficult points in the piece and proposes solutions based on the author’s learned techniques and accumulated experience in learning the saxophone. |
