| According to the seventh national population census in 2021,there are 190 million elderly people aged 65 or above in the mainland of China, accounting for 13.5% of the total population. With the increasingly serious problem of population aging in China, elderly care has become a hot topic in society.Hospice care,as an important way to optimize elderly care services in China, has gradually entered the public eye.Hospice care aims to improve the quality of life of patients and maintain their dignity. It provides physical care for patients at the end of their illness,as well as psychological and spiritual humanistic care for patients and their families. The documentary "The Last Journey",with the theme of "hospice care",is recorded in the way of group photography, with the patient as the main line, and is divided into four independent narrative units, showing the final survival status of the four patients and the story behind them. The second line is the physical care, psychological comfort and daily communication and interaction between doctors and patients provided by medical and social workers for terminally ill patients. The documentary presents the following three questions by recording the true stories of patients at the end of their lives: Why should we choose terminally ill care in the last time? How should patients at the end of life be treated? What is the significance of choosing hospice care at the end of life? This is to show the development status of hospice care, explore the social significance of hospice care, the problems faced at this stage, and how to improve hospice care services in the future. It records and explains the creative process, narrative structure, and specific shooting work of the documentary, with a view to better displaying the current development situation and practical issues of hospice care, and contributing to further promoting the development of hospice care and death education. |
