Motivation is an important factor in language learning.D?rnyei’s theory of "L2 Motivational Self System" provides a new way of thinking about motivation in second language learning.The "Production-Oriented approach" was proposed by Wen Qiufang in response to the current situation of foreign language teaching in China,and in recent years it has also been widely used in the field of teaching Chinese to speakers of other second language.This paper combines Wen Qiufang’s "Production-Oriented Approach"(POA)and Dornyei’s "L2 Motivational Self-System" theory to investigate the "Production-Oriented Approach" model of teaching.This paper uses a questionnaire of the L2 motivational self-system combining quantitative and qualitative research through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews,and uses SPSS data analysis tools to verify the effectiveness of the Production-Oriented Approach in improving students’ second language motivational selves.The final results show that the "Production-Oriented approach" has a significant impact on the learners’ L2 motivational self system,with the highest to the lowest significance on the "ideal second language self" and the second highest on the "second language learning experience"."The most significant effect was on the ideal bilingual self,the second most significant on the bilingual learning experience,and the least significant on the should bilingual self.In addition,the gender factor had no significant effect on learners’ bilingual motivational self system.It is hoped that this study will help Chinese language teachers to create a relaxed teaching environment and provide appropriate output goals,and that students will actively understand the teacher’s intention and work hard to complete the output tasks,thus promoting the teaching and learning of Chinese language through a collaborative approach between teachers and students.
