| As the great master of classical poetry,Du Fu is proficient in the art of language.Many idioms have been abstracted from his poems in later ages,which is called the idioms of Du Fu’s poems.The idioms initially had the nature of elegant words,and were closely related to literary works.With the rise and growth of the civil class,the idioms became increasingly popular with civil society.The idioms in Du Fu’s poems are both elegant and popular,which express Du Fu’s poetic art and linguistic personality,and a considerable part of the idioms have been quoted by later literati for many times.Exploring the formation and dissemination process of these idioms can have a deeper understanding of Du Fu’s excellent language art,as well as his significant contribution to the development of the national language.Based on the Annotations of Du Fu’s Poems by Qian Qianyi(《钱注杜诗》),the paper makes a systematic and detailed summary of Du Fu’s idioms,and collects about 240 idioms in all.The first chapter uses the method of quantitative analysis to summarize the characteristics of Du Fu’s idioms in etymology,the distribution of poetic style and grammatical structure.Meanwhile,it takes the etymology of idioms as the standard to divide Du Fu’s idioms into two parts:one part is quoted from previous works,the other part is created by Du Fu in his poems.The second chapter mainly discusses the exquisite art of the idioms that originated from Du Fu’s poems:Du Fu makes full use of different rhetorical devices to create a vivid language effect,which expresses deep emotional connotation in short and plain text.The allusions used in Du Fu’s idioms spread throughout Confucian classics,history,philosophy and literature;the proverbs used are more like poetic languages that is written by Du Fu,that reflect the polishing ability of Du Fu’s idioms in vocabulary.With the perspective of communication,the third chapter traces the dissemination of Du Fu’s poems idioms in later ages,concludes that the formation and development of the idioms from Du Fu’s poems are mainly based on the classical literary position of his poems,and lists some quotations of Du Fu’s poems idioms from Du Fu’s imitators.Additionally,some controversial idioms of Du Fu’s poems in later ages have carried on the analysis and correction in this chapter.The epilogue briefly summarizes and analyzes the idioms from Du Fu’s prose and Fu,then discusses the reason why these idioms are much less than that from Du Fu’s poems. |
