A Linguistic Study On Qi Jiguang’s Ji Xiao Xin Shu

Ji Xiao Xin Shu is a military work written by Qi Jiguang.The book is rich in content,covering martial arts,combat,formation,weapon manufacturing and other aspects.The language expression is highly colloquial,providing rich corpus for the study of oral vocabulary and language expression of the Ming Dynasty.The research of this paper is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction.From the three aspects of Qi Jiguang’s life,the completion and edition of Ji Xiao Xin Shu,and the relevant research results and trends of the academic circle,this paper expounds the reference value and function of this study in further exploring the process and results of the transformation of language from text to white in the Ming Dynasty,the thought and culture of the Ming Dynasty and the compilation of modern dictionaries.The second part,Comparison of versions of Ji Xiao Xin Shu.Through the detailed comparison and analysis of the eighteen volumes and fourteen volumes of Ji Xiao Xin Shu,this paper describes their respective chapters and content differences,and attempts to analyze the sources and intentions of their language differences.From the addition and deletion of articles to understand Qi Jiguang from Jiajing to Wanli years to combat and military training understanding changes;Explore the use of cold weapons and firearms in Ming Dynasty and the maturing process of Qi Jiguang’s military thought from the change of content;It also analyzes the use of citations in the two versions,so as to analyze the theoretical and differences,and grasp the overall connotation and value of the two works.The third part,Study on Concept Field of Ji Xiao Xin Shu.From the perspective of concept field,synchronic description and analysis of some synonyms in "Ji Xiao Xin Shu" are summarized into six concept fields of "knowing,fear,negating,returning,eating,and summiting",and the description of these seven concept fields is carried out.The situation of each member of the above concept field is described from the synchronic level,and the evolution and distribution of each member is analyzed from the diachronic level.Promote the in-depth study of modern Chinese lexical system.The fourth part,A stylistic study of Ji Xiao Xin Shu.Through the description and analysis of the syntactic expression in the book,the stylistic features and manifestations in different contexts are expounded.The fifth part,Ji Xiao Xin Shu and compilation of dictionaries.The Chinese Dictionary is supplemented from three aspects: uncollected entries,delayed documentary evidence and incomplete meaning.
