The unique coronavirus(COVID-19)epidemic,which not only threatens people’s physical health but also puts them under a great deal of psychological stress, has been ravaging the world in recent years.Although the coronavirus pandemic’s quarantine restrictions have been loosened, the outbreak’s consequences are still being seen.A person’s mental health may suffer as a result of future significant health and security emergencies. The study’s goal is to investigate the relationship between mental health and mindfulness from the standpoint of emotional regulation theory to address the mental health issues brought on by the epidemic. The Mindfulness Attention Awareness Scale(MAAS),The 10-item Resilience Scale(The10-Item Resilience Scale),and The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale(The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale,DASS-21)were administered as online questionnaires to adults. For the Pearson correlation, variance, and regression analyses,SPSS 26.0 was utilized. The mediation effect was examined using the macro program Process. Most adults experienced more anxiety than depression and stress during the pandemic, with even severe anxiety accounting for 15.1 percent of the sample. There was a significant positive correlation between mindfulness and resilience. There was a significant negative correlation between mindfulness and the total score of mental health and three kinds of negative emotions, resilience and total score of mental health and three kinds of negative emotions were significantly negatively correlated.Resilience played a partial mediating role in the effects of mindfulness on mental health and three negative emotions, accounting for 31.01% of mental health,37.85% of depression,28.61% for anxiety, and 23.42% for stress. The findings of this study imply that adults’ resilience throughout the pandemic plays a partial mediation effect between mindfulness and mental health. This provides a theoretical foundation as well as a practical reference for college dealing with psychological crises when confronted with severe health safety situations in the future.Furthermore, based on the preliminary research on the mechanism of mindfulness and resilience, researchers can continue to investigate the relationship between mindfulness and resilience,as well as their mechanism of action in the process of emotional regulation,in the future.
