Research On Mozi’s Reduce Expenses Design Concept

In this paper,the connection between Mozi’s concept of frugality and the idea of creation is established.The main reason is that the practical and thrifty ideas contained in the concept of frugality are presented in daily life by borrowing utensils,which are closely related to people’s clothing,food,housing and transportation.In addition,there is a coupling between the concept of frugality and modern design concepts,and its timeless value connotation and practical significance are also the purpose of exploration.The article is divided into three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.In the first part,the research background and purpose are analyzed by literature review,and the research summary of Mozi’s design thought and Mozi’s concept of frugality is drawn up.It is intended to draw the conclusion that the research on the concept of frugality in the field of design has not been fully carried out,and there are misunderstandings between it and the modernist design concept-functionalism.The second part is the main research.By analyzing the noumenon and extension of frugality,this paper establishes its performance,characteristics and value in traditional creation,compares the similarities and differences with western design concepts,and expounds the personalized performance,which will help to promote the formation of a new development path of ancient thought,and also have certain enlightenment significance to China’s concept of creation and modern design thought and practice.On the one hand,from the perspective of context,content and purpose of saving,in order to better understand saving,the interweaving of saving and design is highlighted.From the perspective of creation,this paper explores the formation and concept of the concept of frugality from the material and spiritual levels,and concludes that the principle of saving material resources and time costs and paying attention to practicality is the core of frugality.It also further analyzes the logical relationship between frugality and Mozi’s other creation thoughts,highlighting its pivotal role.On the other hand,it discusses the presentation and differences of the concept of frugality in traditional creation thought.Taking Confucianism,Taoism and France as reference objects,this paper makes a comparative analysis of their related concepts of frugality,comments on the content of frugality in later generations and Mozi’s concept of frugality,and explores their advantages and disadvantages.On the aspect of literary attitude,Confucianism emphasizes that literature is better than quality on the principle of courtesy,while Mohism emphasizes that quality is better than literature on the basis of profit standard;Legalists emphasize the importance of quality and evil decoration from three aspects: people’s livelihood,the way of being a man and the view of material.Taoism emphasizes the value orientation of emphasizing quality and seeking elements from the level of human desire.From the perspective of utility and beauty,although the three schools of law,Taoism and Confucianism have similarities in utility and aesthetics,their core driving forces are different,each with its own merits.Highlight the differences in the concept of use in different cultural atmospheres.The most important thing is that the concept of frugality contains design concepts such as reusing and saving money,stopping using and putting people first,which will be an important basis for Mozi’s frugality in the creation environment of the new era.Finally,a comparative analysis between Mozi’s frugality and modern western design will help highlight the commonness and dissimilarity between Mozi’s frugality design thought and functionalism,and make people clearly understand the value of the concept of frugality.The third part is a summary of the research content of this paper,the enlightenment of the concept of frugality to the professional ethics of contemporary designers and the future prospect of cultivating simple aesthetic taste.
