Gansu,abbreviated as "Gan" or "Long",is also known as "Longyuan".Longyuan has a vast territory and diverse types of landforms,with the four major terrain areas of Longzhong and Longdong Loess Plateau,Longnan Mountains,Hexi Corridor,and Gannan Grassland being the most prominent.These rich and diverse landforms together constitute the unique landscape of Longyuan.At the same time,as a major cultural province,Gansu’s cultural relics mainly include the Hexi Silk Road culture,grotto temples,and Longdong agricultural culture.The complex and diverse geographical features and diverse cultural relics have created unique conditions for the formation of Longyuan themed landscape paintings.Different regional environments create different landscapes.To form a unique and recognizable regional style in Longyuan themed landscape paintings,and to find their own local painting language,it is necessary to base oneself on the natural scenery,mountains,rivers,trees,and customs of the region,and not to neglect the attention to its historical and cultural origins.This article mainly takes regional culture and geomorphic characteristics as the entry point,analyzes and interprets the landscape paintings depicting the theme of Longyuan in modern times.Contemporary artists have made bold breakthroughs in the traditional picture structure and program based on the Longyuan theme landscape paintings,which is highly magnificent and profound in the characteristics of the times.The development of Longyuan themed landscape painting is not only a supplement and expansion of traditional landscape painting,but also an important component of northwest landscape painting,with a rich and magnificent,vast and vigorous,simple and warm style,The Longyuan themed landscape,with its unique regional characteristics,provides sufficient nourishment for the formation of unique aesthetic taste,expression style,and ink spirit in landscape painting,and is a treasure trove for literati to express their interest.The analysis of the painting language of Longyuan themed landscape paintings this time mainly starts from three aspects,namely schematic spatial language,color expression,and pen and ink expression.Combining theoretical learning and research on the brush and ink language of landscape painting,creating and practicing two works: "The Rhyme of Longyuan Mountain" and "The Tale of Longshan",and combining theory with practice to further demonstrate and analyze.During the creative process,the use of ink and color is flexible,striving to showcase the unique geological features of the Loess Plateau in eastern Gansu.The scenery in nature is combined with the author’s inner emotions,and different expressive techniques are used to depict the magnificent artistic conception of Longyuan according to the needs of the screen,completing the author’s transformation of Longyuan’s emotions from natural scenery to artistic works,This is also a statement of the author’s understanding and creative process of the language used in the creation of Longyuan themed landscape paintings.
