As a practice report, this paper takes the 2021 EDG post-game interview videos as the corpus of this simulated consecutive interpreting.Under the theory of interpreter’s subjectivity consciousness of Professor Ren Wen,the author summarized the three roles played by interpreters in e-sports dialogues according to the characteristics of the e-sports industry.Specific strategies were proposed by the author and then applied in the process of this interpreting practice.According to Professor Ren Wen,the interpreter’s subjectivity consciousness refers to the interpreter’s ability to recognize that he or she is the subject in the communicative activity and can have influence on the transmitted linguistic and cultural information, the way of transmitting information and the result of information exchange. The visibility of the liaison interpreter is mainly manifested in three roles: gatekeeper,co-interlocutor and communication facilitator.Through the video materials of the past three years’ competitions, the author sorted out the characteristics of language in the e-sports industry as professional vocabulary and informal language with a clear-cut standing. Then, according to the types of audience, the author summarized the three roles played by interpreters in the e-sports industry as message deliverer, gatekeeper and communication facilitator.Strategies based on these three roles were also proposed to guide this practice. After the practice, the author collected the evaluations of the audience and made a self-evaluation of the interpreting process.Through case analysis, this practice report proves that interpreter’s subjectivity consciousness is instructive to interpreting practice concerning e-sports.
