A Study On The Role Analysis And Singing Of “Beggar” In The Opera “the Wager”

The opera “The Wager” is the first opera created by Professer De Qing Wen,a composer of Shanghai Conservatory of music.It has a certain influence in the original operas.After watching this opera,I was attracted by its unique style.Besides,it was easy for me to get guidance from Mr.Wen during my study on this opera as we know each other.So I chose "The Wager" as my master thesis.In this thesis,we focused on understanding the structural characteristics of the whole opera through analyzing its overall framework.Based on the study of structural characteristics,music writing skills used in this opera were deconstructed and the characters wanted to be shaped in this opera were also analyzed correspondingly.Through the grasping and analysis of the characters and writing features showing this opera,we can understand and guide ourselves to sing the "Beggar" aria more accurately.
