Research On Ben Agger’s Idea Of "Alienated Consumption"

Agger’s idea of "alienated consumption" is an attempt to analyze consumption problems by using Marxist materialist dialectics.Agger’s alienated consumption thought is based on the premise of transforming from economic crisis to ecological crisis.Starting from Marx’s dialectics of alienation theory,contradiction theory and crisis theory,agger believes that the crisis of modern capitalist society has shifted from production to consumption.He believed that the contradictions of capitalism would not lead to the economic crisis in a scientific way,but must seek the revolutionary radicalism consciousness of socialist transformation from the consumption alienation.Agger started from consumption alienation and realized the turn of ecological crisis.He pointed out that with the development of consumption alienation,the failure to meet the unlimited supply of goods would lead to people’s disillusionment,and the dialectics of disillusionment would lead people to have new expectations and promote the socialist revolution.Agger constructed a complete set of ecological socialist revolutionary road from the perspective of alienated consumption.Here,the connotation and value of Agger’s alienated consumption will be seen through the deconstruction and discovery of Agger’s alienated consumption thought on Marx’s dialectics.The first chapter is the introduction.By reviewing the current situation of alienated consumption research at home and abroad,the main problems of alienated consumption research at home and abroad are clarified,the internal logic of Agger’s alienated consumption thought is further clarified,and the fundamental content of Agger’s criticism of capitalist consumption alienation is clarified.The second chapter mainly investigates the historical background,theoretical basis and internal logic of Agger’s idea of "alienated consumption".Agger inherited the idea of alienated consumption from Marcuse and others,and replaced economic crisis with ecological crisis to transform Marx’s dialectics,so that the focus of the research shifted from alienated labor to alienated consumption.The third chapter mainly discusses the main content of Agger’s idea of "alienated consumption",its production,consequences and solutions,and then points out how alienated consumption promotes socialist revolution.The expansion of capitalist production,with the help of "labor-leisure dualism",regards consumption as the compensation of leisure time for suffering in labor,which is actually caused by the capitalist system,and adopts the ruling form of ideological legitimacy.Agger pointed out that the reality that the alienated consumption could not meet the needs would lead to the "dialectics of disillusionment",which would push people to re-establish expectations and promote the ecological socialist revolution by abolishing alienated consumption.The fourth chapter is about agger "dissimilation consumption",the value of the limitations of contemporary enlightenment,and in the nature of agger "dissimilation consumption" of the comb,to his constructive affirm consumption theory,critical theory,and the distortion and the content of deviating from the original meaning of marxism to deny,through scientific grasp agger as to contents,value and limitations of consumption alienation thought,to clear its consumption for contemporary Chinese society is the value and inspiration as well as the construction of ecological civilization.
